Ant International has closed approximately $1.2 billion in Series A equity financing, providing fresh capital for the Singapore-headquartered financial technology company’s expansion across international markets. Existing shareholders Ant Group and Alibaba Group participated alongside other global investment institutions, although Ant International did not identify the additional investors or disclose individual commitment sizes. The transaction strengthens the company’s resources as it develops cross-border payment infrastructure, digital financial services, and artificial intelligence tools for merchants, small businesses, and larger enterprises.

Major Capital Injection

The company said the proceeds will support growth and innovation in merchant payments, business account management, and inclusive financial services for companies operating internationally. Ant International plans to deepen its presence across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, where it works with banks, card networks, mobile payment providers, and technology companies. Reuters previously reported that the fundraising was expected to value the business at $10 billion before the new investment, although the final announcement did not provide an updated post-money valuation.

Four-Pillar Operating Model

Ant International organizes its operations around four principal platforms: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and Bettr, each serving a different part of the global commerce and financial services market. Alipay+ focuses on connecting digital wallets and payment methods across borders, while Antom provides payment and digitization tools for merchants and WorldFirst supports international business payments and account services. Bettr extends the group’s reach into embedded finance, using technology to help platforms and financial institutions offer credit and related services to business customers.

AI and Agentic Commerce Strategy

Beyond conventional payment processing, the financing is intended to advance artificial intelligence applications across merchant services, treasury operations, credit technology, and agentic commerce. Ant International has already positioned products such as the Alipay+ Agentic Mobile Protocol and AI-powered wallet technology as infrastructure for transactions initiated or assisted by autonomous digital agents. The strategy reflects a broader effort to embed payments, authentication, and financial management into automated commerce workflows while helping businesses operate across currencies, markets, and payment channels.

Global Scale and Corporate Context

Ant International began operating independently in 2024 following its separation from Ant Group, with its headquarters and core international operations based in Singapore. The company says its partnership network now connects more than 150 million merchants with over 2 billion user accounts, giving it substantial distribution across consumer wallets, payment networks, and enterprise platforms. The new capital arrives as digital payment companies compete to simplify cross-border transactions, reduce friction for smaller businesses, and apply AI to areas such as fraud prevention, treasury management, and commerce automation.

The $1.2 billion Series A gives Ant International additional financial capacity to scale its international network and develop a broader suite of technology-driven financial products. Participation from Ant Group and Alibaba Group signals continued support from existing stakeholders, while the involvement of unnamed international institutions broadens the financing base behind the independently operated company. The next test will be whether Ant International can convert its large network, four-platform structure, and AI investments into sustained adoption among merchants and enterprises across diverse regulatory and competitive markets.
