FORMAS.AI, a pioneering AI-native creative workspace for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector, has successfully closed an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round of US$3.98 million. The investment was led by the prominent venture capital firm Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India. This capital injection is set to accelerate the company's mission to redefine design workflows with a unified, intelligent platform.

Modernizing a Traditional Industry

The AEC industry has historically been one of the world's largest yet least digitized sectors, often hindered by complex and fragmented software tools. These legacy systems present steep learning curves, slowing down creative processes and creating workflow inefficiencies. FORMAS.AI aims to dismantle these barriers by offering a more intuitive and integrated solution for modern design professionals.

The platform is engineered as an AI-native environment where architects and designers can seamlessly sketch, render, and iterate within a single interface. By orchestrating over 60 specialized AI models, it functions as a creative collaborator rather than a simple rendering tool. This approach preserves the designer's intent while significantly boosting speed, accuracy, and consistency across projects.

Strategic Capital for Global Expansion

The US$3.98 million funding round attracted a diverse group of investors, signaling strong confidence in the company's vision. Alongside lead investor Vertex Ventures, participants included UntroD Capital, Hustle Fund, and several high-profile angel investors from the tech industry. This robust financial backing provides a solid foundation for the company's ambitious growth plans.

FORMAS.AI will strategically deploy the new capital to expand its team, advance product development, and scale its global go-to-market strategy. The company is targeting the United States and Europe as its primary markets for expansion. It also recognizes Asia and Latin America as rapidly emerging regions with significant growth potential for its platform.

A New Paradigm for Design

Co-founder and CEO Yiping Goh emphasized the need to reimagine design platforms from an AI-native perspective, rather than adding AI features to outdated tools. She noted that the significant global demand validates the industry's readiness for this fundamental shift. The company's goal is to build a truly modern workspace that meets the evolving needs of designers.

This vision is shared by Co-founder and Chief Product & AI Officer, Professor Carlos Bañón, who explained that the platform empowers designers instead of replacing them. For decades, creatives have had to adapt their work to the limitations of their software. FORMAS.AI reverses this dynamic, creating a space where artificial intelligence amplifies the designer's unique creative intent.

Investor Confidence and Market Opportunity

The platform's early success has been remarkable, with users generating over 500,000 designs across 135 countries since its public beta launch in November 2025. This impressive organic traction highlights a clear market need for more intelligent and streamlined design tools. The rapid adoption rate underscores the platform's intuitive appeal and powerful capabilities for a global user base.

Jessica Koh of Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting FORMAS.AI's strong position in the evolving AI landscape. She noted that the platform effectively combines orchestration and proprietary tools to power design workflows at scale. This positions the company to lead in the emerging category of integrated AI-powered creative platforms.

The investment arrives as the AEC software market is projected to reach up to US$15 billion by 2030. This growth is driven by the increasing adoption of AI-driven automation throughout the project lifecycle. Recent advancements in spatial understanding and multimodal reasoning are creating unprecedented opportunities to transform how architects and designers work.

With its successful pre-seed funding and a clear vision for the future, FORMAS.AI is poised to make a significant impact on the AEC industry. The company's AI-native approach promises to unify fragmented workflows and empower designers with powerful, collaborative tools. This strategic investment marks a critical step toward establishing a new global standard for creative design software.
