Trustap, an Irish payments platform, has successfully raised $10 million in a funding round led by Aperture Capital. This investment is earmarked for the launch of Trustap Index, a pioneering solution for the burgeoning era of AI-driven commerce. The funding will also accelerate product development and support team expansion as the company embraces transactional AI.

Addressing the Rise of Agentic Commerce

The way consumers shop is undergoing a fundamental transformation, with many delegating purchasing decisions to AI agents. This trend, known as agentic commerce, is projected by McKinsey to redirect up to $5 trillion in global retail spending by 2030. The momentum is already evident, as AI influenced one in five global orders during Cyber Week 2025.

This shift presents a significant technical challenge for the web's existing infrastructure. AI agents require highly structured, machine-readable data to effectively search, compare, and transact across different platforms. The vast majority of today's online listings are not formatted for this type of automated consumption.

Introducing Trustap Index

To bridge this critical gap, Trustap is launching its new solution, Trustap Index. The platform is designed to aggregate and structure product listings from a wide array of online marketplaces and individual sellers. This process transforms human-facing inventory into consolidated data that leading AI models can easily discover and process.

Trustap Index will empower AI agents to act as true shopping proxies, handling product discovery and negotiation on a buyer's behalf. Every transaction is then routed through Trustap’s established and secure payment infrastructure, with human users confirming each purchase. This ensures AI-led transactions are as secure and trusted as human-initiated ones.

Strategic Vision and Investor Confidence

Conor Lyden, Founder and CEO of Trustap, articulated the company's long-term vision for the platform. He stated that the goal is for Trustap to become the trusted payment layer for all online commerce, both agentic and human. This funding provides the resources to ensure AI agents can rely on Trustap's infrastructure when shopping online.

Lead investor Ben Robinson, CEO of Aperture Capital, expressed strong confidence in the company's direction. He noted that Trustap is uniquely positioned to orchestrate agentic transactions due to its work with hundreds of marketplaces. Robinson highlighted the company's ability to transform fragmented inventory data into consolidated, machine-readable information.

Future Outlook and Company Growth

The $10 million in capital, with participation from TX Ventures, will fuel significant growth. Beyond launching Trustap Index in 2026, the funds will support continued development of its core marketplace platform. The company also plans a strategic expansion of its team to manage the increased operational scope.

This funding round builds upon Trustap's proven track record in the digital commerce space. The company has already processed hundreds of millions of dollars in secure transactions, earning a reputation as a reliable European platform. Its technology helps marketplace operators reduce costs and improve margins, providing a strong foundation for this venture.

Trustap's latest $10 million funding round marks a pivotal moment for the company and the broader ecommerce landscape. By developing Trustap Index, the firm is not just adapting to the rise of AI but is actively building its foundational infrastructure. This strategic move positions Trustap to become an indispensable component in the future of secure, AI-driven online transactions.
