TesterArmy, a software quality assurance company focused on AI agents for web and mobile applications, has announced a $1.2 million pre-seed funding round. The investment includes participation from Y Combinator, Script Capital, Eight Capital, AIP Seed, and several angel investors with backgrounds at leading developer platforms. According to the company, the new capital will support platform expansion and the development of an open-source AI testing framework for both human developers and autonomous coding agents.
A Pre-Seed Round with Strategic Backers
The investor group includes Guillermo Rauch of Vercel, Charlie Cheever of Expo, Walden Yan of Cognition, Theo Browne of T3, and Zeno Rocha of Resend. Other backers include Adam Pietrasiak of Screen Studio, Austen Allred of Gauntlet AI, and leaders from Callstack, Catch The Tornado, and The Thinking Company. TesterArmy emphasized that the support is especially meaningful because many of these investors are building tools developers rely on every day.
Why Automated Testing Is Becoming Critical
Co-founders Szymon Rybczak and Oskar spent years building mobile apps where quality was a major bottleneck. They observed that testing often remained time-consuming even after a feature was finished, because teams still had to verify signup, onboarding, and other core flows manually. Those challenges have not disappeared with the rise of coding agents, since a change can be written quickly but still requires someone to open the app and use it.
How TesterArmy Works
TesterArmy allows teams to describe a user flow, such as creating an account or inviting a teammate, and then AI agents open the application in a browser or on a mobile device. The agents work through the flow, verify that it behaves as expected, and can run on a pull request before merging or as part of a coding agent's workflow. When a failure occurs, the platform provides the steps, screenshots, and a recording to help reproduce and fix it.
Customer Adoption
TesterArmy is already used by technology teams at Resend, bolt.new, and Nando's for daily web and mobile testing. The platform allows teams to run checks on pull requests before merging or as part of a coding agent's workflow. When tests fail, TesterArmy provides the steps leading to the issue, along with screenshots and recordings to help teams reproduce and fix it.
Customer Results
Novu reports cutting flaky tests in half and merging about 30 percent faster after adopting the platform. Juno states that it ships pull requests ten times faster and saves two days of manual testing per week. These results point to meaningful time savings for engineering teams under pressure to ship quickly while maintaining quality.
Open-Source Roadmap and Future Plans
Beyond the current platform, TesterArmy's next major focus is launching e2e, an open-source AI testing framework. The ambition is to make e2e the default tool for humans and agents to build tests across any kind of software. The company, led by CEO Szymon Rybczak and co-founder Oskar, plans to expand its small team and has invited developers who care about AI and developer tools to connect.
