French AgTech startup Tellia has raised €4.3 million, approximately $5 million, in pre-seed funding to expand its voice-enabled artificial intelligence technology for agricultural teams. The round was led by Revent, with participation from Grey Silo Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Cereal Docks Group, alongside Jeriko, operated by Techmind, and Fund F. The company plans to use the financing to strengthen its voice AI capabilities, develop its agentic AI suite, and expand its team and commercial presence across the United States and Europe.
Building a Voice-First Interface for Agriculture
Founded in 2024 by Coline Labadie de Faÿ and Vincent Trastour, Tellia is developing a voice-first interface designed to reduce the administrative burden faced by farmers, agronomists, and agricultural field teams. The founders met through Entrepreneurs First in Paris before launching the company, which now operates across Paris and San Francisco. Tellia was created around the idea that agricultural workers often possess valuable operational information in the field but lack convenient tools for entering that information into conventional software systems.
Turning Conversations Into Structured Data
Tellia allows agricultural workers to record information using natural communication channels including phone calls, voice notes, text messages, WhatsApp, and email. Its technology interprets these inputs and converts them into structured records associated with the appropriate fields, crops, crews, and operational activities. Users can also query the system to retrieve information and receive operational or agronomic insights without needing to navigate complex forms or manually enter data.
Growing Adoption in the United States and Europe
The company initially launched its technology in the United States and says field teams can reach approximately 80% daily active usage within two months of onboarding. Tellia reports that its technology is now used across about one million acres, with deployments including agricultural producer Campos Brothers Farms and winery operator Duckhorn. In Europe, the startup is also working with organizations including the Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin, agricultural cooperative Val de Gascogne, and German plant breeder KWS Saat.
Developing an Agentic AI Layer
The new financing will help Tellia develop what it describes as an agentic AI layer connecting field workers with the broader agricultural technology ecosystem. Rather than attempting to replace the software already used by farms and agricultural businesses, the company positions its technology as an interface capable of capturing, interpreting, and distributing information across existing systems. This approach allows agricultural teams to continue working through familiar methods while giving businesses access to more structured and usable operational data.
Expanding Through Embedded Technology
Tellia is also developing application programming interfaces that allow other AgTech companies to integrate its voice AI capabilities directly into their own platforms. Through these integrations, users can speak naturally while Tellia processes the information and returns structured records or recommendations inside the partner's existing product. The company believes this embedded model can help agricultural technology providers increase data collection and product engagement without requiring customers to adopt entirely new workflows.
Addressing Agriculture's Data Collection Challenge
Agricultural operations generate significant information about crops, treatments, labor, equipment, and field conditions, but much of that knowledge can remain scattered across conversations, messages, and workers' personal experience. Tellia aims to bridge that gap by allowing information to be collected at the moment it is generated rather than requiring workers to complete administrative tasks later. Its system can also adapt its data structure to individual farming operations rather than requiring every organization to follow a standardized template.
Tellia's €4.3 million pre-seed round gives the young company additional resources to develop its voice AI technology while accelerating adoption across two major agricultural markets. By positioning voice as an interface between field workers and existing agricultural software, the startup is targeting one of the industry's persistent challenges: turning everyday operational knowledge into structured, actionable data.
