Vienna-based fintech Talentir has successfully closed a €4 million seed funding round to advance its AI-powered global payout system. The round was led by Redstone VC, with significant participation from Inovia Capital and other notable investors. This capital will enable the company to develop its infrastructure for platforms paying creators, freelancers, and contractors worldwide.

Addressing a Gap in B2B Payments

While processing incoming payments has become simpler, managing outbound payments remains a complex and manual task for many businesses. Platforms paying numerous international creators and freelancers often struggle with operational and compliance challenges. These issues include tracking cross-border payments, handling diverse tax regulations, and managing currency fluctuations efficiently.

The B2B payments market is experiencing rapid growth, with projections indicating it will more than double by 2031. Despite this expansion, cross-border payment systems are frequently slow, expensive, and lack necessary automation. This creates a significant opportunity for solutions that streamline payouts for sectors like music distribution and influencer marketing.

A Novel Approach with Stablecoin Technology

Talentir offers a comprehensive solution by managing the entire outbound payment process within a single, unified system. The company's key innovation is its settlement infrastructure, which is built upon stablecoin technology for enhanced speed. This modern approach allows Talentir to bypass the delays and high fees associated with traditional banking networks.

A key differentiator for Talentir is its function as a Merchant of Record, assuming full legal responsibility for compliance. This model allows clients to offload complex financial operations while maintaining control over their brand and payee relationships. Unlike competitors, Talentir combines this responsibility with a unique crypto-backed settlement system for superior efficiency.

Investor Confidence and Strategic Backing

The oversubscribed seed round attracted a diverse group of investors, reflecting strong confidence in Talentir's vision. Led by Redstone VC, the round also included Inovia Capital, whose partners include former Google CFO Patrick Pichette. Other participants like Tenity and Shapers further validate the market's readiness for a new payout infrastructure.

Investors have highlighted Talentir's unique value proposition in a largely unsolved segment of B2B fintech. Richard Würl of Redstone praised the company's combination of stablecoin settlement, AI, and full regulatory responsibility. This integrated approach is seen as a powerful solution to the persistent challenges of global payouts.

Future Plans and Expansion

With the new funding, Talentir plans to accelerate its growth by enhancing its AI platform and Merchant of Record system. The capital will also support the company's international expansion efforts as it scales its operations. The current team of six is expected to double by the end of 2026 to support this development.

The company has set ambitious targets, aiming to reach an annual payout volume of €100 million in the short term. Looking further ahead, Talentir has a long-term goal of processing €1 billion in annual payouts. CEO Lukas Steiner also envisions making payouts profitable by exploring innovative models for funds in transit.

Talentir's €4 million funding marks a significant milestone in addressing the complexities of global B2B payments. The company's innovative use of AI and stablecoin technology positions it as a key infrastructure provider for the creator economy. As businesses increasingly rely on a global workforce, Talentir's streamlined solution is poised for substantial growth.
