Ghent-based construction technology startup Spotable has closed a €4 million Seed funding round to accelerate its AI-driven platform and international growth. Founded in 2024, the company automates digital measurement and quoting workflows that have traditionally depended on manual site visits and spreadsheets. The new capital will support deeper product development and entry into France, Germany, and the United States.

Targeting Manual Workflows in Construction

Spotable addresses a persistent inefficiency in the building trades, where roofers can spend roughly eight hours per project measuring structures and preparing quotes. Many contractors still create estimates in Excel and visit potential job sites before knowing whether they will win work. The company replaces these steps with geographic data and AI to generate digital measurements and a 3D representation from a project address.

Product Capabilities and Market Context

Spotable builds a 3D model of a property using satellite imagery, publicly available Lidar data, and historical information. From the dashboard, contractors can view calculated surface areas, quote details, project profitability, and requirements such as parking bans or building permits. The company says its software is complex in the background but remains extremely user-friendly for tradespeople who need to automate and digitize their work.

From Roofing to the Full Building Envelope

Although Spotable began with roofing contractors, its platform is expanding to facade work, solar panel installation, and terrace construction. The software calculates quantities, links materials and prices, produces quotes, and supports ordering through distributors and manufacturers. More than 350 small and medium-sized companies with over 1,000 individual profiles currently use the technology.

Investor Backing and Strategic Ambitions

Founded in mid-2024 by Sebastien Vandendriessche, Pieter-Jan Philips, and Julie Dumoulin, the company is led by CEO Vandendriessche. The Seed round drew backing from Jonas Dhaenens, associated with team.blue, venture capitalist Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc, the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens, and Arne Vandendriessche, CEO of Get Driven and former chief executive of Signpost. Vandendriessche said the team saw an opportunity to give contractors technology that is fast, reliable, and easy to use, replacing paperwork with results.

International Expansion and Team Growth

The fresh capital will support product development and international expansion following early growth in Belgium and the Netherlands. Spotable is targeting larger European construction markets, especially France and Germany, where it plans to onboard more construction companies and build partnerships with distributors and manufacturers. The company is also establishing a commercial presence in the United States after testing its technology at trade fairs.

In the United States, Spotable has already met with four senators to discuss its vision for the construction sector and was recognized as Most Promising Tech Startup at the Trends DataNews Awards of Excellence 2026. The startup currently employs 30 people and plans to add 10 more by the end of the year. Its leadership aims to build a one-stop shop for builders and renovators by expanding from roofing into the full exterior envelope of a home.

Spotable's Seed round highlights growing venture capital interest in vertical software that modernizes specialized construction trades. By focusing on practical, sector-specific tools for measurement, estimation, and project management, the company has demonstrated demand and retention among contractors. After raising an earlier €1.2 million from business angels and family offices, Spotable now has the resources to prove its model can scale across Europe and the United States.
