Sopht, a platform dedicated to optimizing IT infrastructure, has successfully raised €7.5 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Ternel, Axeleo Capital, and Wind Capital, with FDJ United Ventures joining as a new investor. This capital injection will enable the company to enhance its solution that helps businesses manage the financial and environmental costs of their digital operations.

The Imperative for IT Efficiency

Global IT spending is projected to reach $6.31 trillion by 2026, yet studies indicate that nearly 29% of cloud expenditure is wasted. This inefficiency presents a significant challenge for large enterprises, making cost management a top priority for the vast majority of organizations. Sopht was founded to address this growing issue by providing a clear path to greater efficiency.

The company was established in 2021 by Capgemini alumni Julien Rouzé and Jérémie Veg, who identified Green IT as a critical strategic area. They combined their entrepreneurial ambitions with personal convictions around sustainability and digital technology. Their mission is to serve as the driving force for achieving both environmental and financial efficiency within corporate information systems.

A Platform for Actionable Insights

Sopht's platform provides a comprehensive view of a company's entire IT estate, consolidating data from the cloud, data centers, and workstations. It moves beyond simple monitoring by automating the entire chain from data collection to generating actionable recommendations. This data-centric product is designed to uncover significant opportunities for savings and impact reduction across the organization.

Unlike tools that stop at providing dashboards and alerts, Sopht empowers teams to take decisive action. The platform simulates the effect of each potential decision in both euros and CO2, allowing for the prioritization of high-impact changes. These recommendations are then integrated directly into the operational tools used by IT teams, closing the loop from insight to implementation.

Navigating New Industry Pressures

The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence has introduced new complexities for Chief Information Officers, who face conflicting directives from top management. While environmental sustainability was a growing focus, the push for AI innovation has forced a shift in investment priorities. This dynamic reinforces the need for sophisticated tools to pilot digital infrastructures more effectively.

Beyond financial and environmental concerns, the resilience of IT infrastructure is becoming a strategic imperative. The explosion in demand driven by AI is straining the supply of critical raw materials, creating geopolitical and supply chain vulnerabilities. Sopht helps its clients navigate these shocks by building more resilient and efficient systems.

Fueling International Growth

The newly secured funds will be used to enhance the platform's analytical capabilities and expand its coverage across the IT perimeter. A primary focus will be on accelerating international commercial development, with a strong emphasis on the European market. The company will also make key hires to support its ambitious growth trajectory.

Sopht already boasts an international client base of over fifty major accounts, including LVMH, BNP Paribas, E.ON, and the UK's NHS. This expansion is further supported by a global partnership with Infosys, a leading digital services and consulting firm. This strategic alliance provides a worldwide distribution channel, embedding IT efficiency into large-scale transformation programs.

This €7.5 million investment marks a significant milestone for Sopht, positioning the company to meet the urgent demand for IT efficiency. As businesses grapple with rising costs, the AI boom, and geopolitical uncertainty, Sopht's platform offers a crucial solution. The funding will accelerate its mission to help enterprises build more competitive, resilient, and environmentally responsible digital infrastructures on a global scale.
