Sonera, a compliance and deliverability platform launched in July by DNC.com and Pure CallerID, has completed its first acquisitions with the purchase of Blacklist Alliance and Number Verifier. The company announced that the two technology providers will extend its capabilities in litigation risk screening and caller reputation management. The combined offering brings list scrubbing, litigator screening, caller identity, and number remediation into a single platform.
Strategic Acquisitions Expand Compliance Control
Blacklist Alliance operates a litigation firewall that checks outbound calls against known litigator and Do Not Call risk before dialing. Number Verifier provides a caller reputation testing and remediation network that verifies whether legitimate numbers connect. Sonera said these acquisitions unite the foundational assets required to manage risk before a call and reputation after it rings.
The acquisitions are Sonera's first since its formation and mark a significant step in building a compliance control layer for outbound engagement. Mark Mitchell, CEO of Sonera, said compliance is becoming the control layer of outbound engagement. He noted that Blacklist Alliance built the litigation firewall the industry checks against and Number Verifier keeps legitimate numbers connecting.
Operational Scale and Data Depth
Sonera currently screens an average of 1.8 billion phone numbers each month against federal, state, and litigation risk data while processing more than 200 million caller identity and delivery transactions. Blacklist Alliance adds a litigation firewall that processes more than 2 billion scrub requests monthly for over 1,100 organizations. Number Verifier contributes a testing network of more than 2,000 real phones placing roughly 2 million daily test calls across all major carriers.
The monthly screening volume covers federal, state, and litigation risk data across large enterprise calling programs. Blacklist Alliance deepens the litigation risk data behind Sonera's screening process by adding more granular litigator intelligence. Number Verifier extends the platform to the other side of the call by confirming whether a legitimate number can successfully connect.
The combined platform now observes outbound engagement from two critical perspectives: the risk before a call is dialed and the reputation after it rings. This dual visibility is designed to support legitimate enterprise callers in regulated and outbound intensive industries such as financial services, healthcare, and insurance. Sonera brings more than two decades of compliance operations experience to those customers.
Customer Continuity and Growth Plans
Customers of Blacklist Alliance and Number Verifier will keep their current products, pricing, and support without interruption. Sonera said the acquisitions are intended to preserve continuity while expanding the tools available on one platform. The company also plans to grow its team in downtown Austin, where it recently opened an office at 823 Congress Avenue.
Sonera formed in July through the combination of DNC.com and Pure CallerID, and the company has moved quickly since that launch. It has opened a downtown Austin office and announced plans to add new roles in the city. The expansion will support AI-led offerings that include pre-dial decision intelligence and real-time governance for agentic outreach.
