Cybersecurity unicorn Silverfort has announced its acquisition of Fabrix, an AI-native identity security startup, in a deal estimated to be worth tens of millions of dollars. This strategic move aims to create the industry's first autonomous identity security platform capable of protecting human, machine, and AI agent identities at runtime. Fabrix's entire 14-person team will be integrated into Silverfort as part of the acquisition.

Addressing the AI Era's Security Challenges

The proliferation of non-human and agentic identities within enterprises has rendered traditional security measures obsolete. These AI-driven entities operate with a speed and unpredictability that static, manually-written authorization rules cannot effectively manage. This gap creates significant vulnerabilities that organizations are struggling to address without hindering technological innovation and business operations.

Adversaries are increasingly exploiting these weaknesses, using stolen credentials and excessive permissions to launch sophisticated attacks too rapid for human intervention. This forces security teams into a difficult position, trying to prevent unauthorized access without stifling progress. The only viable solution is to make intelligent access decisions in real time, a challenge this acquisition directly confronts.

A New Paradigm in Identity Security

The combined solution will merge Silverfort’s established Runtime Access Protection technology with Fabrix’s advanced AI decisioning engine. This integration will create a powerful system that evaluates every access request as it happens, leveraging a rich knowledge graph of identity data and context. The platform is designed to make and enforce these critical security decisions in a fraction of a second.

"The only way to mitigate this risk without stopping the business is to make access decisions at runtime, using AI and deep context," stated Hed Kovetz, CEO and Co-Founder of Silverfort. He explained that pre-defining access rules is no longer feasible in the AI era, where dynamic protection is essential. This partnership aims to set a new standard for protecting all identities continuously.

Raz Rotenberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Fabrix, shared his enthusiasm for the merger. "By joining Silverfort, we can bring this transformation to the largest companies in the world and combine our AI engine with Silverfort’s runtime enforcement," he said. Rotenberg emphasized that this collaboration will achieve an unprecedented level of identity security and shape its future.

Strategic Integration and Company Backgrounds

Founded in 2025, Fabrix quickly established itself with an experienced leadership team from prominent tech firms like Nvidia-acquired Run:ai, Orca Security, and Microsoft. The startup secured $8 million in seed funding from investors including Norwest and toDay Ventures. Its team of AI and security experts is based in Tel Aviv and will now join Silverfort.

Silverfort is a major player in the cybersecurity field, having raised over $222 million in capital to date, including a $116 million Series D round in 2024. This is not its first strategic purchase, as the company acquired cloud identity security firm Rezonate in late 2024. These acquisitions demonstrate a clear strategy to build a comprehensive, end-to-end identity security platform.

Following the acquisition, Fabrix's team will join Silverfort's global workforce of approximately 600 employees. The companies plan to make the initial joint capabilities available to Silverfort's extensive customer base, which includes over 1,000 enterprises, in the second half of 2026. This integration promises to deliver enhanced protection against modern identity-based threats for organizations worldwide.

This acquisition marks a significant development in the evolution of identity security, directly responding to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. By combining Silverfort's enforcement capabilities with Fabrix's AI-driven decision engine, the new entity is poised to deliver a truly autonomous security solution. The move positions Silverfort at the forefront of protecting complex digital ecosystems against an increasingly sophisticated threat landscape.
