IIT Madras-incubated robotics startup Solinas Integrity has successfully secured $5.5 million in a Series A1 funding round. The investment was co-led by Mela Ventures and the Hero Enterprise Family Office, positioning the company for significant expansion. This capital infusion will fuel the company's mission to revolutionize the management of underground water and sanitation infrastructure.
Strategic Investment for Infrastructure Innovation
The funding round saw participation from the Luthra Group, alongside continued support from existing investors including the SVL-SME Fund managed by SBI Ventures, Rainmatter Capital, and 8X Ventures Fund I. This investment follows a Series A round in May 2024, underscoring strong and sustained investor confidence in the company's vision. The backing from such mission-aligned partners is crucial for their next growth phase.
Founded in 2018, Solinas Integrity develops full-stack robotics and artificial intelligence solutions to address critical urban challenges. Their technology inspects, cleans, and digitizes underground water and sewer pipelines, effectively tackling issues like water contamination and leakage. This innovative approach also aims to eliminate the hazardous practice of manual scavenging by providing a safe, mechanized alternative.
Fueling Expansion and Technological Advancement
Solinas plans to allocate the fresh capital towards several key areas of development and growth. A significant portion will be used to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate the creation of next-generation robotic technologies. The company will also focus on strengthening its proprietary AI-powered software and asset management platforms.
A primary objective for the startup is to scale its operations both domestically and internationally. The funds will help deepen its penetration into new states and municipal corporations across India. Concurrently, Solinas is building its international footprint with a strategic focus on markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
A Vision for Broader Applications
CEO Divanshu Kumar stated that the company is poised to become India’s largest tech firm in the underground asset management space. With a strong leadership team and investor support, Solinas is extending its expertise into adjacent high-stakes sectors. The company is actively planning its entry into the Oil & Gas and Defence industries, where similar principles of managing critical infrastructure apply.
Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Enterprise, highlighted the startup's transformative potential in his comments on the investment. He praised Solinas for reimagining a solution for the difficult problem of underground wastewater networks with robotics. Munjal emphasized that their work directly contributes to water security, worker safety, and the long-term resilience of cities.
Market Context and Future Outlook
The funding arrives at a time of increasing investor interest in India's deep-tech sector, particularly for infrastructure solutions. Government initiatives such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and the NAMASTE scheme are accelerating the adoption of mechanized inspection and cleaning technologies. These programs are channeling significant public and multilateral investment into the segment.
With its technology already deployed in 35 cities across 15 Indian states, Solinas has established a solid foundation for growth. The company has set an ambitious revenue target of ₹100 crore by the fiscal year 2028. This goal will be driven by its core water and sanitation business alongside its expansion into industrial asset management.
This Series A1 funding marks a pivotal moment for Solinas Integrity, empowering it to scale its innovative solutions for critical infrastructure. The investment not only validates its technology but also accelerates its journey toward enhancing urban sustainability and safety. As the company expands its reach and diversifies its applications, it is well-positioned to make a lasting impact in India and beyond.
