On September 28, 2026, RiskScout, an integrated BSA/AML and fraud prevention platform for banks and credit unions, announced the close of its latest funding round led by LiveOak Ventures. The round included participation from Castle Creek Launchpad, the Bankers Helping Bankers Fund, Alloy Labs, Brue2, and C3 Ventures. The Austin-based financial crime technology company said the new capital will help it extend its platform to more institutions that are fighting financial crime.

Growth Fueled by Market Demand

The investment follows a year of substantial growth for RiskScout, which reported that revenue more than tripled and its customer base of banks and credit unions grew by over 250%. Its users now range from community institutions with under US$100 million in assets to those managing more than US$10 billion. The company expects this trajectory to continue through the remainder of 2026.

Fraud and Compliance Pressures Converge

Community banks and credit unions are facing rising fraud losses as fraud and money laundering schemes increasingly overlap, while regulators place greater emphasis on BSA/AML program effectiveness. Many institutions are managing these demands with lean compliance teams and legacy systems that treat fraud and BSA/AML as separate problems. This disconnect leaves them exposed to both financial crime and regulatory scrutiny.

A Unified Platform Built by Practitioners

RiskScout was built by former BSA officers and bank examiners to close that gap with a single platform that combines BSA/AML compliance and fraud prevention. The platform integrates with core banking providers and replaces outdated, disconnected tools. Intelligent automation and AI-driven agents lower compliance overhead by automating alert investigation, customer risk profiling, enhanced due diligence, and SAR and CTR filing preparation while helping institutions prevent fraud losses in real time.

Scaling Team and Technology

To keep pace with demand, RiskScout has expanded its team with former BSA officers, compliance specialists, and fraud examiners who bring firsthand regulatory and investigative experience. The company will use the new investment to continue scaling its workforce. It also plans to expand intelligent automation and AI-driven agents, deepen integrations with core providers and partners, and bring its platform to more institutions.

Investor Confidence in a Specialized Team

LiveOak Ventures Partner Mike Marcantonio said his firm backs domain-rich entrepreneurs tackling meaningful problems, and fraud is one of the most costly challenges facing banks and credit unions today. He emphasized that the RiskScout team has sat in customer seats as BSA officers, fraud examiners, and regulators. The investment reflects confidence in a team building specifically for financial institutions that serve local communities.

A Mission to Protect Communities

Justin Fischer, Co-Founder and CEO of RiskScout, framed the company's mission around making communities safer from fraud and financial crime. He said the new funding positions RiskScout to continue saying yes to banks and credit unions of every size. The company wants to ensure that no financial crime fighter is under-equipped against bad actors.

The latest funding round positions RiskScout to deepen its impact across banks and credit unions of all sizes, from small community institutions to larger regional players. By continuing to invest in automation, AI-driven agents, and core integrations, the company aims to reduce the operational burden on financial crime teams. Its growth reflects a broader shift toward modern, unified approaches to BSA/AML compliance and fraud prevention.
