Ridge Biotechnologies Expands Seed Round to $38 Million

New investment led by Dimension Capital accelerates AI-designed bioconjugate therapeutics

Ridge Biotechnologies has expanded its investor base with additional financing led by Dimension Capital, bringing the company's total capital raised to approximately $38 million. The Palo Alto-based biotechnology company is advancing AI-designed bioconjugate therapeutics and has recorded rapid commercial traction over the past year. The new capital will support partnerships, platform expansion, and internal discovery programs aimed at developing enzyme-based therapeutics.


Expanded Seed Funding

The upsized seed round was anchored by Dimension Capital and joined founding investor Sutter Hill Ventures and existing backer Overlap Holdings. Sutter Hill Ventures incubated Ridge Bio before its official launch in the fall of last year. Ridge Bio plans to allocate the capital to scale its data generation and machine learning platforms, broaden its bioconjugation enzyme and linker portfolio, and advance internal discovery programs.

Platform and Product Innovation

Ridge Bio uses proprietary machine learning models informed by high throughput cell free experimentation to design precision enzymes and targeted drug delivery systems. This approach can generate up to a million fold more sequence function data than conventional methods, enabling the design of bioconjugate drugs with improved or novel functionality. The company is applying the technology to drug classes where precision assembly and release are especially important, including bispecific, peptide, degrader, and radio conjugates.

Product Portfolio

The company's product portfolio includes NativeLink enzymes, which attach diverse payloads to proteins site specifically without altering sequence, disulfide bonds, glycans, or upstream manufacturing. ProTrigger linkers are designed to release therapeutic payloads only in target tissues. Catalytic Medicines represent a new class of precision enzyme-based therapeutics and form part of the company's longer term discovery strategy.

Commercial Momentum and Preclinical Data

Ridge Bio has added several new partnerships over the past year with leading biotechnology companies seeking to apply NativeLink enzymes and ProTrigger linkers to their bioconjugate programs. Recent animal studies showed that antibody drug conjugates made with NativeLink-AXC enzyme had several fold lower toxicity than approved ADCs while improving efficacy using the same antibody and payload amount. These results are supporting demand from drug developers who want to reach targets that have been difficult to access with conventional antibody drug conjugates.

Industry Recognition

In 2026 Ridge Bio received the SynBioBeta Rising Star Award, which recognizes emerging leaders whose work is reshaping synthetic biology. Founder and CEO Weston Kightlinger accepted the award on behalf of the company. The nomination emphasized the unique precision targeting and machine learning approach that Ridge Bio is advancing relative to industry and academia.

Leadership Expansion

Ridge Bio has appointed Romas Kudirka as Vice President of ADCs, bringing more than 15 years of antibody drug conjugate development experience from roles at Santa Ana Bio, Bolt Biotherapeutics, Catalent, and Redwood Bioscience. The company also appointed Grant Blouse as a scientific advisor, adding more than 25 years of biopharmaceutical leadership across autoimmunity, hematology, and oncology. These appointments are intended to strengthen translation of the company's technologies into partner and internal programs.

Scientific Advisory Board

The scientific advisory board includes Nobel laureate Carolyn Bertozzi of Stanford University, Sangeeta Bhatia of MIT and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Michael Jewett of Stanford University, and Gabe Kwong of Georgia Tech. It also includes Mandana Honu of Fathom Therapeutics and Sutter Hill Ventures, Hans Wandall of the University of Copenhagen, and Vesna Mitchell formerly of Codexis. This group provides expertise across chemistry, bioengineering, oncology, and enzyme-based therapeutic development.


The additional investment and expanded leadership team position Ridge Biotechnologies to meet growing demand for next generation bioconjugate platforms. By combining computational design with high throughput experimentation and a broadening partnership base, the company is addressing long standing safety and efficacy challenges in complex therapeutics.
