Revolut has partnered with OpenAI to provide eligible retail customers with complimentary access to ChatGPT Go, adding an artificial intelligence service to the fintech company’s growing portfolio of subscription benefits. Announced on July 30, 2026, the agreement will give customers between three and 12 months of access, with the duration determined by their Revolut membership plan. The collaboration highlights how financial platforms are increasingly combining banking products with digital tools designed to support productivity, learning, travel planning, and other everyday activities.

Plan-Based Access for Revolut Customers

Under the partnership, Revolut Ultra customers will receive 12 months of ChatGPT Go access and a separate 12-month Buddy Pass that can be shared with another person, while Metal subscribers will also receive a full year of access. Premium customers, Revolut Pro users, and Revolut Mobile subscribers will be eligible for six months, and customers using the Plus or Standard plans will receive a three-month promotional offer. Revolut said access would become available immediately for most qualifying paid plans, while invitations for eligible Plus and Standard customers would be distributed separately over the following weeks.

Enhanced AI Features and Everyday Uses

ChatGPT Go provides higher usage limits than the free version of ChatGPT and offers expanded access to capabilities including file uploads, document analysis, memory, and image generation. These tools can be used for tasks such as comparing purchases, researching unfamiliar subjects, organizing work, preparing travel itineraries, analyzing documents, and supporting creative or administrative projects. By including the service within its membership plans, Revolut is lowering the initial cost barrier for customers interested in using advanced generative AI features but who have not previously purchased a subscription.

Revolut Broadens Its Membership Strategy

The agreement supports Revolut’s wider effort to position its paid plans as comprehensive digital memberships rather than packages focused exclusively on banking and payments. The company has continued to add third-party services and lifestyle benefits across areas such as travel, communications, work, and personal productivity, seeking to increase the practical value of each subscription tier. ChatGPT Go strengthens that approach by adding a widely recognized AI platform that customers can use regularly alongside Revolut’s financial services and other partner benefits.

Strategic Value for OpenAI and Revolut

For OpenAI, the arrangement creates a significant distribution channel through a global financial platform that Revolut says serves more than 75 million customers, potentially introducing ChatGPT Go to users who have relied only on the free version or have never used the service. Revolut partner and general manager for premium products Tara Massoudi said the company aims to provide tools that customers use throughout the day, while OpenAI’s EMEA managing director Emmanuel Marill emphasized the potential for AI to assist with learning, planning, creativity, and routine administration. The partnership could benefit both companies by encouraging sustained AI adoption while helping Revolut differentiate its subscription plans in an increasingly competitive fintech market.

The partnership between Revolut and OpenAI demonstrates how banking platforms are expanding beyond traditional financial functions to become gateways to broader digital services. Eligible Revolut customers will gain temporary access to enhanced ChatGPT capabilities, while OpenAI will receive exposure to a large international audience through an established consumer finance application. Although the long-term impact will depend on how frequently customers use the benefit after the complimentary period, the agreement represents a notable convergence of fintech subscriptions and mainstream generative artificial intelligence.
