ReSpark, the technology platform focused on the metal recycling industry, has completed its acquisition of ScrapRight, a scrap yard management software provider founded by industry veteran Shon Duty. The transaction adds roughly 350 customers and more than 500 yard locations to ReSpark's growing network, and it marks the company's third combination since April 2026. ReSpark was formed that April through the combination of GreenSpark and ReMatter, and the latest deal further consolidates its position in the scrap recycling software market.

A Rapid Expansion Strategy

ReSpark was formed in April 2026 through the combination of GreenSpark and ReMatter, and it expanded again in July 2026 with the acquisition of UptimePM, now known as ReSparkPM. With the addition of ScrapRight, the company now serves roughly 1,000 customers across more than 1,700 locations globally. The acquisition strengthens ReSpark's position as a comprehensive technology platform for scrap recyclers of all sizes, from independent yards to enterprise operations.

ScrapRight's Industry Knowledge and Product Scope

ScrapRight has delivered scrap yard management software to metal recyclers for more than 20 years, and its workflows and industry knowledge are now part of ReSpark's connected system. That system spans buying, selling, pricing, yard operations, logistics, finance, accounting, compliance, equipment maintenance, and AI-powered automation. The shared goal is one platform for how a recycling business actually runs, from the scale house to the back office, without adding unnecessary complexity.

Executive Perspectives on Customer Trust

ReSpark CEO Gordon Driscoll said ScrapRight has built something special because Shon Duty and his team understand this industry at a fundamental level. He added that the combined teams can build on that foundation while putting more resources behind the products and people customers rely on. Shon Duty, founder of ScrapRight, said he is proud of what the company built and confident its customers are in good hands with the ReSpark team.

Customer Transition and Continuity

The ScrapRight team, including members of the Duty family, is joining ReSpark to support customers through the transition. This continuity is intended to preserve the trust ScrapRight has earned over more than two decades of service. ReSpark says the acquisition positions it to invest more deeply in product development, customer support, automation, and AI for the next decade of recycling operations, ensuring customers benefit from continued innovation.

A Broader Platform for Recyclers

ReSpark now spans a broad set of capabilities that help recyclers buy, sell, price, and move material while managing equipment, finance, and back office functions. The platform serves independent yards, multi-location operators, and enterprise scrap recyclers. By combining ScrapRight's customer base with ReSpark's modern technology, the company aims to reduce complexity, support growth, and provide a clear path for recyclers to adopt automation and AI without unnecessary operational friction.

The Broader Industry Context

The scrap recycling software market has seen increasing demand for connected tools that reduce manual work, improve visibility, and enable more informed decision making across operations. ReSpark's acquisition strategy reflects that trend by bringing established providers onto a single platform. With this latest move, the company strengthens its ability to serve independent recyclers and large multi-location enterprises alike, while supporting continued investment in automation and AI.

The acquisition of ScrapRight represents another milestone in ReSpark's strategy to build a definitive technology platform for metal recycling. It unites two decades of ScrapRight's industry experience with ReSpark's broader product and AI capabilities, creating a stronger partner for recyclers worldwide.
