Renata Medical, a technology company focused on congenital heart disease (CHD) in children, has successfully closed a $25 million Series D financing round. The investment was led by ARCHIMED, a global healthcare investment firm, with continued participation from existing investors. This new capital is earmarked to accelerate the commercialization of the company's innovative Minima™ Stent System and expand its impact on pediatric cardiac care.

Strategic Investment for Commercial Expansion

The proceeds from this financing will primarily support the expanded commercial rollout of the Minima™ Stent System across the United States. A significant portion of the funds is also allocated for the company's strategic entrance into international markets. This financial backing will additionally fuel the advancement of Renata Medical's pipeline of pediatric-specific CHD technologies and support ongoing clinical evidence generation.

Dustin Armer, Co-founder and CEO of Renata Medical, stated that the adoption of the Minima™ Stent System has exceeded initial expectations since its commercial launch in 2024. He emphasized that the support from a specialized investor like ARCHIMED serves as a powerful validation of the company's mission. This partnership underscores the growing opportunity to transform care for children born with congenital heart defects.

Innovating for Pediatric Cardiac Care

The Minima™ Stent System represents a significant breakthrough in pediatric cardiology as the first balloon-expandable growth stent designed specifically for the youngest patients. It was developed for use in neonates, infants, and young children suffering from conditions like pulmonary artery stenosis or coarctation of the aorta. Its unique design allows it to accommodate a child's natural growth, a critical feature for pediatric implants.

The device achieved a crucial regulatory milestone by receiving FDA premarket approval in August 2024, paving the way for its use in the U.S. In August 2025, its value was further recognized when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) granted it a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) designation. This designation provides hospitals with enhanced reimbursement, facilitating broader access to this vital technology.

Addressing a Critical Unmet Need

André-Michel Ballester, a Managing Partner at ARCHIMED, highlighted the long-standing challenge in pediatric cardiac care that Renata Medical is addressing. He noted that for too long, children with congenital heart defects have been treated with repurposed devices originally built for adults. This mismatch often necessitates multiple, high-risk procedures throughout childhood simply because the implants cannot grow with them.

Ballester, a veteran of the cardiovascular device industry, expressed his admiration for how clearly the Minima™ technology addresses this unmet need. He stated that it is rare to see such a targeted and effective solution for a specific patient population. ARCHIMED is proud to back the Renata Medical team as they scale the business and continue to advance their pipeline of purpose-built pediatric therapies.

This $25 million funding round marks a pivotal moment for Renata Medical, providing the necessary resources to scale its operations and expand its global reach. The investment not only validates the company's innovative approach but also accelerates its mission to provide superior, specialized solutions for young patients. This strategic infusion of capital positions Renata Medical to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the standard of pediatric cardiac care worldwide.
