Regulate, a platform integrating science-backed breathwork into the modern workday, has successfully closed a €1.4 million seed funding round. The investment was led by impact investor 4impact.vc, with participation from a prominent angel syndicate. This new capital will enable the company to enhance its product, expand its team, and accelerate its mission of promoting sustainable performance in professional environments.

Addressing Workplace Pressure with Science

The company was founded to address the widening gap between escalating professional demands and the human capacity to meet them sustainably. Regulate is built on the conviction that breathwork offers a direct, scientifically validated method for improving focus, stress response, and resilience. This approach has been adopted by elite athletes and military units for its measurable effects on performance under pressure.

The platform was co-founded in 2024 by CEO Peter van Woerkum, an experienced executive coach, and Paul Laechelin, a former product lead at BMW. Their combined expertise drives the vision of embedding breathwork directly into team workflows, transforming it from an isolated wellness perk into an integral performance tool. This strategy aims to help professionals thrive amid rising expectations without adding to their stress.

An Intelligent, Context-Aware Platform

Regulate offers a library of over 60 sessions, ranging from 90 seconds to 60 minutes, developed in partnership with leading scientific advisors. Unlike generic mindfulness apps, the platform is designed to surface the right intervention at the most opportune moment. This could be a focus protocol before a critical meeting or a calming exercise following an intense discussion.

This contextual intelligence is powered by integrations with wearables and workday systems, making it a first-of-its-kind on-demand performance tool. By analyzing physiological signals and understanding a user's daily schedule, the platform delivers personalized recommendations aligned with their current state. This ensures that the support provided is both timely and highly relevant to immediate workplace challenges.

Investor Confidence and Market Traction

The funding round, spearheaded by 4impact.vc, reflects strong investor confidence in Regulate's mission and business model. Victor Straatman, a partner at the firm, noted that the company effectively aligns positive impact with commercial success by improving both performance and well-being. The participation of notable angel investors like Personio CEO Hanno Renner further validates the platform's potential.

In less than a year, Regulate has demonstrated significant market traction, with users completing over 50,000 sessions across various organizations. The company already serves prominent clients, including Raiffeisen Bank International, Vattenfall, and Personio, and reports an enterprise pipeline exceeding €9 million in potential annual recurring revenue. This rapid adoption highlights a clear demand for its targeted solution in the corporate world.

With its new €1.4 million in funding, Regulate is well-positioned to scale its operations and deepen its impact on corporate wellness. The investment will accelerate product development and team expansion, reinforcing the company's role in shaping the future of workplace performance. By providing a practical tool for building resilience, Regulate is helping organizations and their employees navigate the pressures of the modern professional landscape.
