QVEMA Amplify, the platform born from the popular French television show "Qui veut être mon associé?", has announced a strategic partnership with investment fund and accelerator Tomcat. This collaboration, unveiled on June 4th at the Palais Brongniart, aims to create a dedicated support channel for promising startups that apply to the show. The initiative will specifically target high-potential companies, particularly in B2B Tech, that are not suited for the television format but possess strong growth prospects.

A New Pathway to Funding and Growth

Through this new alliance, selected startups will gain entry into Tomcat Factory's prestigious Apollo accelerator program. This provides ventures with six months of intensive mentorship and strategic guidance to scale their operations effectively. Participants will also have access to significant capital, with up to €250,000 in financing available through a dedicated crowdfunding vehicle to fuel their expansion.

Admission into the program is governed by stringent criteria to ensure a high caliber of participants. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum monthly revenue of €25,000, showcasing initial market validation and a sustainable business model. Furthermore, a solid founding team and evidence of proven market traction are essential prerequisites for consideration by the selection committee.

Combining Media Reach with Accelerator Expertise

Tomcat, founded in 2020 by President Patrice Thiry, brings a proven track record of success to the partnership. The fund already processes 2,500 applications annually, selecting only the top one percent, and boasts an impressively low 10% failure rate among the 100 startups it has supported. This disciplined approach has allowed it to consistently nurture high-growth companies within its portfolio.

The partnership leverages the immense sourcing power of QVEMA Amplify, which benefits from the television show's reach of 20 million viewers across France. This creates a substantial and continuous pipeline of new entrepreneurial talent for Tomcat to evaluate. The collaboration effectively bridges the gap between media exposure and structured, hands-on business acceleration for deserving founders.

According to Michèle Benzeno, co-founder and president of QVEMA Amplify, the choice of Tomcat was influenced by Patrice Thiry's own resilient entrepreneurial journey. She noted that his story aligns with the values of Amplify, which champions French entrepreneurs and fosters belief in the national ecosystem. This shared vision forms a strong foundation for the partnership's long-term goals.

Expanding Horizons and Fostering Success

While Tomcat's investment thesis has historically centered on B2B technology, this new alliance marks a strategic expansion into the B2C sector. Patrice Thiry confirmed that the accelerator's six-month program is adaptable to all business models. To support this diversification, Tomcat plans to recruit a new partner with a specific track record in consumer-facing businesses.

Both partners are united by a common philosophy that extends beyond simply promoting entrepreneurship. As Thiry stated, the core objective is the "democratization of success" by creating tangible success stories that can inspire a new wave of innovators. This mission is sequenced through the show identifying talent, the platform training them, and the accelerator financing and structuring their growth.

It is important to note that the accelerator and the television show will operate as distinct and separate pathways. Startups accepted into the Tomcat program are not being groomed for a future appearance on "Qui veut être mon associé?". This separation ensures that each channel can cater effectively to the different needs and stages of the companies it serves.

Future Developments and Educational Initiatives

Looking ahead, the partners are considering the creation of a dedicated Tomcat cohort exclusively for startups sourced through the QVEMA Amplify pipeline. This would further formalize the collaboration and create a specialized track tailored to the unique profile of these companies. Such a move would represent a significant evolution of the initial partnership agreement.

In parallel, QVEMA Amplify is broadening its support for the entrepreneurial community by launching two new educational programs on June 10th. The first is a 12-week bootcamp led by expert coaches and show ambassadors. The second is a master's level (bac+5) certified training program co-developed with the prestigious ESCP Business School.

In conclusion, the partnership between QVEMA Amplify and Tomcat establishes a powerful new ecosystem for French entrepreneurship. By systematically channeling the vast applicant pool from a major media platform into a proven accelerator, the initiative is poised to unlock significant untapped potential. This strategic alignment of media-driven sourcing and expert-led acceleration aims to cultivate a new generation of successful French companies on the national and international stage.
