Provision Labs has acquired Mumbai-based hardware startup Basilisk Industries for an undisclosed sum. Basilisk founder Shourya Watwani will lead Provision's hardware efforts. Provision is a San Francisco-based physical AI venture.

What the team brings

Watwani founded Basilisk in 2023 to build perception technology. In his first few weeks, the team built a 3D hand-tracking model. It also redesigned Provision's perception hardware and created the first version of a lightweight tactile glove.

What Provision does

Provision Labs was launched in San Francisco by Pronto founder Anjali Sardana. Sardana serves as CEO of both Provision and Pronto. The company collects data to train and test robots and other physical AI systems.

Pronto update

Pronto's bookings are at an all-time high. Average order value is rising consistently. More than half of verified Pronto Pros earn over ₹40,000 a month.

Provision is hiring researchers and engineers in San Francisco, Toronto, and Bengaluru. Roles cover computer vision, perception and tactile data, environment reconstruction, and hardware. No robotics experience is required, and candidates can email build@provisionlabs.com.
