Plaud, an American artificial intelligence notetaking company, has officially expanded its presence in Indonesia through a media briefing in Jakarta. The company is introducing AI-powered devices designed for professionals whose core work occurs through conversations, including executives, consultants, and marketers. Plaud cited local research showing that 69% of Indonesian workers already use AI for work, yet 88% still report lacking enough time and energy to complete daily responsibilities.

Addressing Productivity Gaps with AI Inversion

Megumi Yoshinaga, Head of APAC Marketing at Plaud, explained that many productivity tools are designed for document creators, while conversation-driven roles remain underserved. Plaud's AI Inversion approach proactively captures intelligence from face-to-face discussions and phone calls, then converts it into structured and actionable summaries. This method aims to reduce administrative workloads rather than replace human judgment and gives professionals more time for collaboration and decision making.

Two Devices Built for Conversation Workflows

Plaud introduced two core devices that can record conversations without full smartphone dependence: the Plaud Note Pro and the Plaud NotePin. The Note Pro features a slim credit-card-sized design with a thickness of 2.99 millimeters, a sandblasted body, and high-quality hexagonal screws. The NotePin is a flexible wearable accessory that can be used as a necklace, clothing pin, or wristband, making it suitable for interviews, field work, and meetings with high mobility.

Language Support and Performance

Both devices are operated through a single button, allowing users to start recording and highlight important moments for the AI to prioritize. The hardware offers up to 30 hours of active recording, 60 days of standby time, 64GB of internal storage, and microphone clarity up to 5 meters. Plaud supports live transcription in more than 112 languages, including Indonesian, Javanese, and Sundanese, and can handle conversations that switch between languages.

Privacy and AI Intelligence

On data protection, Plaud implements zero data training and zero data retention policies, meaning user data is not used to train public AI models. All recordings and notes are protected with end-to-end encryption, and data for Southeast Asian users is stored on regional servers in Southeast Asia. Through Plaud Intelligence, users can ask questions about past recordings with source citations and original audio playback to reduce hallucination risks.

Local Distribution and Pricing

Plaud has expanded its Indonesian distribution through more than 70 physical retail locations, including Urban Republic, iBox, and Gramedia, across several major cities. Consumers can also purchase the devices online through Tokopedia, Shopee, and the company's official Southeast Asia website. In terms of pricing, the Plaud Note Pro is available for Rp3,499,000, while the Plaud NotePin S is sold at Rp3,449,000.

Growth Targets and Regional Ambitions

Indonesia is one of six priority Southeast Asian markets for Plaud, alongside Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The company said its global annual recurring revenue grew from US$1 million to US$100 million in two years, with a global sales target of US$500 million. Plaud expects Indonesian active users to surpass 1 million by 2030 and sees the country becoming a leading market in the region.

Plaud's official entry into Indonesia reflects rising demand for AI tools that can reduce administrative work such as note-taking, transcription, summarization, and follow-up preparation. The company positions its devices as complements to human judgment, designed to give professionals more time for meaningful collaboration and decision-making. With local language support, retail expansion, privacy-first policies, and ambitious growth targets, Plaud is positioning itself to capture a significant share of Indonesia's increasingly AI-adopting workforce.
