Ofload, an Australian digital freight partner, announced on 22 September 2026 that Queensland based freight brokerage National Transport Solutions has joined its network. The acquisition gives Ofload an established presence in Queensland and adds diversified freight flows, including southbound lanes that often run underused. It forms part of a disciplined growth strategy aimed at consolidating Australia's fragmented freight market.

Strategic Expansion into Queensland

National Transport Solutions has built strong relationships with customers and carrier partners across Queensland over many years. The move enables Ofload to enter the Queensland market through an established local operation rather than building from scratch. It also brings volume on southbound freight lanes that frequently operate below capacity, creating opportunities to reduce waste in the broader network.

Ofload Founder and CEO Geoffroy Henry described the acquisition as part of a broader effort to bring well-run businesses into the network. He noted that technology and scale are increasingly separating successful freight businesses from those that struggle. The company is pursuing that strategy with discipline and sees consolidation as a major opportunity in the Australian market.

Leadership and Integration Support

NTS co-founders Phil McConville and Grant Fisher will work alongside Ofload's Director of Integrations Drew McKinnel during the handover. McKinnel is relocating from Sydney to Brisbane to establish Ofload's permanent Brisbane office. This leadership structure is designed to preserve local relationships while introducing national capabilities across Queensland for existing and future clients.

McKinnel emphasised that day to day service for NTS customers will not change from day one. Over time, those customers and carriers are expected to gain simpler booking and rebooking, clearer reporting, and better visibility over freight tracking. The transition is intended to be smooth and to maintain trust with existing partners.

Financial Backing for Growth

Ofload has secured a AUD$50 million asset-backed trade receivables facility from Australian private credit manager GCI Funds. The facility supports Ofload's growth in two ways, funding organic expansion and selective acquisitions. It provides additional financial capacity as the company continues to consolidate its position in the fragmented freight market.

GCI Funds Managing Director Henry Stewart said Ofload represents the kind of business the firm looks to support. He cited a strong management team, a clear strategy, and a genuine technology advantage in a large and fragmented market. GCI Funds is pleased to back Ofload's growth ambitions through this facility.

A Measured Path Forward

The acquisition reflects Ofload's broader inorganic growth strategy rather than a one-off transaction. The company is selectively bringing established freight brokers into its network at a time when scale and digital capability are becoming decisive. This approach aims to create a more efficient national network while preserving the strengths of local operators.

By adding a Queensland presence, Ofload can serve customers and carriers more effectively across the state. The new Brisbane office provides a permanent base for operations and integration. The company expects the combined network to improve freight utilisation and deliver significantly better outcomes for all parties across the state over time.

Ofload's acquisition of National Transport Solutions marks a significant step in its strategy to consolidate Australia's fragmented freight industry. By pairing local Queensland relationships with national scale and digital tools, the company is positioning itself to capture efficiency gains in underused freight lanes. The new Brisbane office and GCI Funds facility underscore a measured approach to growth and integration.
