Nstech, a leading provider of supply chain software, has officially received authorization from Brazil's Central Bank to operate as a Payment Institution. This pivotal license allows the company to issue electronic money, marking a significant step in its strategy to merge financial services with logistics operations. The approval is set to enhance existing payment solutions and pave the way for new, integrated financial products for the transportation sector.

Integrating Finance into Logistics

By securing this license, Nstech is embedding a sophisticated financial layer directly into its integrated logistics network, the Transportation Network System (TNS). This strategic integration brings carriers, shippers, and drivers into a single, cohesive digital ecosystem for the first time. The primary objective is to streamline the entire supply chain by unifying operational workflows with financial transactions in one place.

The practical implication of this development is a significant reduction in operational friction for Nstech's clients. Users will no longer need to juggle multiple systems for managing transport logistics and processing payments, leading to greater efficiency. This unified platform is designed to simplify complex processes, offering a seamless flow from dispatch to final settlement for all stakeholders involved.

Accelerating Existing Services

The authorization will immediately accelerate services already in use, including freight payments via the Transport Operation Identifier Code (CIOT) and mandatory toll voucher (VPO) management. The company’s financial division has demonstrated significant scale, having processed over R$ 3.4 billion in transactions over the past twelve months. This volume is supported by the monthly issuance of approximately 260,000 CIOT documents through its system.

Nstech's platform also provides tangible cost-saving benefits, such as a feature that cross-references fuel prices and locations to guide drivers to cheaper diesel. In parallel, its VPO solution functions as a central integrator connected with the market's primary electronic toll tags. This system facilitates smoother passage for commercial vehicles through highway toll plazas, minimizing delays and improving transit times.

A Foundation for Future Growth

According to Bruno Vieira, head of the company's financial division, this license is the culmination of years of dedicated regulatory adjustments and strategic planning. It establishes a robust financial foundation that prepares the company for a new cycle of innovation and expansion. This regulatory milestone empowers Nstech to broaden its portfolio of products that directly connect to the core of transportation operations.

Looking ahead, Nstech plans to leverage this new capability by launching integrated digital accounts for both carriers and drivers. The carrier account will be embedded within the Transportation Management System (TMS), while drivers will access theirs through the company's Trizy application. This initiative aims to provide users with direct access to payments and operational data without relying on external banking systems.

Nstech's Market Position

The company's extensive reach underscores the potential impact of this new financial integration across the logistics industry. Nstech currently offers over 100 distinct solutions, operates in 15 countries, and serves a vast network of 75,000 clients. Its comprehensive database includes information on 2.3 million drivers, positioning it as a central player in the sector.

Nstech's successful acquisition of a Payment Institution license from the Central Bank marks its transformation into a powerful logistics-fintech hybrid. By embedding financial services directly into its operational platform, the company is poised to deliver unprecedented efficiency and value to the supply chain. This strategic move will ultimately simplify complex processes for thousands of businesses and millions of drivers across its network.
