Novadip Biosciences, a late-stage clinical biotechnology company specialising in regenerative medicine, has announced the closing of a €10.4 million convertible financing round, roughly equivalent to $12 million. The financing was led by New Science Ventures with participation from a syndicate of existing investors. This latest capital injection brings the company’s total convertible financing since June 2025 to €20 million and will support its lead programme through critical clinical and regulatory milestones.

Financing Round and Investor Syndicate

The new round was led by US-based New Science Ventures and supported by Novadip’s historic backers, including Fund+, Wallonie Entreprendre, VIVES Fund, ORSA Tech, Sambrinvest, Noshaq and Invest.BW. It follows a €9.6 million convertible loan secured last year. The combined €20 million in convertible financing since June 2025 amounts to approximately $23.3 million.

Clinical Development Focus

Novadip will use the funds primarily to advance NVD003, its autologous cell-based therapy, through the final stage of clinical development and preparation for regulatory submission. The capital will support completion of a pivotal Phase 3 trial in congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia, a rare and difficult-to-treat pediatric bone condition, which is currently running in the United States and the European Union. It will also cover preparation of a Biologics License Application to the US Food and Drug Administration.

Proprietary Platform and Product Pipeline

Founded in 2013 as a spin-off from Université Catholique de Louvain and St. Luc University Hospital, Novadip has developed a proprietary 3M³ tissue regeneration technology platform. This platform uses adipose-derived stem cells within a three-dimensional extracellular matrix to create tissue that can heal large bone defects, non-union fractures and spinal fusion cases in a single procedure. Its second candidate, NVDX3, completed Phase 1b/2a trials in trauma surgery and spinal fusion and has FDA clearance to begin a Phase 2b/3 trial.

Regulatory Goals and Priority Review Voucher

Novadip aims to obtain market authorization for NVD003 in congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia by 2028 and for adults with critical-size bone defects by 2031. Upon BLA approval, the company could receive a Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher from the FDA, which it values at more than $100 million. These milestones are central to the company’s strategy to pursue strategic partnerships and prepare for its next stage of development.

Funding Support and Corporate Position

Achieving the €10.4 million financing target unlocks the last tranche of an €18 million venture debt agreement signed in 2023 with the European Investment Bank, backed by the European Union’s InvestEU programme. Novadip has raised €137 million in equity and non-dilutive funding since inception. The company currently employs 53 people.

Leadership Perspective

Denis Dufrane, founder and CEO of Novadip, described the financing as a strong vote of confidence from investors and an important step forward for the company. He said the resources will advance NVD003 through major clinical and regulatory milestones, including the pivotal Phase 3 programme and US regulatory submission. Eric Pâques, Chairman of the Board, added that Novadip is entering a critical value-creating period with the resources to prepare the business for its next stage.

The successful closing of this convertible round reinforces investor confidence in Novadip’s regenerative medicine platform and its pathway toward commercialisation. The funding is expected to enable the company to complete late-stage clinical development, prepare regulatory filings, and pursue strategic partnerships and value-creating milestones. With clear regulatory goals and a strengthened financial position, Novadip is preparing for its next phase of growth in the limb sparing treatment space.
