NEDO and Kogakuin University signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation on October 29. The agreement covers founder support and industry-academia collaboration. It is NEDO's 23rd university partnership of this kind.

Cooperation scope

The partners will support matching between researchers and companies. They will share information on NEDO programs and send NEDO Catalyzers for consultations. They also plan to develop startup support staff and support university startup events.

University startup efforts

Kogakuin University runs support from idea discovery to proof-of-concept funding. The university was selected for a Tokyo metropolitan startup support program in fiscal 2025. It has produced participants in the TTCP and NEP programs.

Startup certification plan

The university plans to certify companies founded by faculty, staff, or students using university research or intellectual property. This certification will support social implementation of research results. The memorandum adds access to seminars and matching information.

NEDO and the university will work to expand the startup ecosystem and improve innovation conditions. They aim to build successful examples among research and development startups. The agreement was signed by the university's president and NEDO's executive director.
