Nara Health, an AI-native third-party administration platform, has announced $14 million in total funding across its pre-seed and seed rounds. The investment was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from Long Journey Ventures and Superior Studios, along with other investors and angels. The company also revealed that it has processed more than $600 million in claims and now serves over 25,000 members across its health plans.
Employer Health Coverage Under Pressure
Approximately 170 million Americans receive health coverage through work each year, yet most struggle to use it effectively. The average family premium reached $27,000 last year, leaving nearly half of insured Americans unable to afford needed healthcare. Despite significant employer spending on health benefits, the experience remains slow, confusing, and reactive because it depends on manual processes and fragmented software.
A Unified Platform for Benefits and Care
Nara Health is rebuilding health insurance by deploying artificial intelligence to design personalized health plans that were historically difficult to administer. The company brings benefits administration, claims processing, care orchestration, and member support together in a single intelligent platform. This approach is intended to help employers lower healthcare costs while making it dramatically easier for employees to access and use their benefits.
Alternative Plan Designs Drive Savings
The platform supports alternative health plan structures such as direct provider contracts, cash pay arrangements, reference-based pricing, and direct primary care. Nara Health states these models can reduce what employers spend on healthcare by 15 percent or more while giving employees clearer pricing and easier access. The company also says employers gain lower administrative complexity, improved cost predictability, and better cash flow.
Faster Service and Proven Outcomes
Nara Health reports that employer health plans using its platform have cut costs by more than 50 percent compared with the employer's prior-year plan. Members' calls are answered in an average of five seconds, and prior authorization decisions are completed the same day instead of the industry standard of three to five days. Matt Brow, CEO of Advanced Medical Pricing Solutions, said his organization moved to self-insurance after a 27 percent renewal increase and saw benefits costs fall 55 percent year over year.
Investor Confidence
Samir Kaul, Founding Partner and Managing Director at Khosla Ventures, said employer health plans have absorbed decades of cost increases with no real mechanism to push back on underlying pricing. He noted that founder Sidhartha Sinha and his team have the clinical knowledge to identify wasted dollars and the technical depth to rebuild the systems that decide how healthcare is spent. That combination is rare and gives Nara Health a distinct advantage.
The Role of Agentic Care Coordination
Nara Health describes itself as air traffic control for every health plan, pairing alternative plan designs with same-day claims adjudication, cash pay, and an AI-native member experience. While most third-party administrators rely on claims data reflecting events from more than 60 days earlier, Nara Health synthesizes near-real-time medical, pharmacy, and member interaction signals. Owning the full member journey from plan design through care navigation keeps the experience coherent from first question to completed care.
Founded by Sidhartha Sinha, Nara Health is backed by Khosla Ventures, Long Journey Ventures, Superior Studios, and other investors and angels. The company aims to modernize health insurance administration by combining alternative plan designs with an intelligent platform that addresses both cost and access. With new funding and early operational traction, Nara Health is positioned to expand its effort to make health coverage simpler, faster, and more affordable for employers and employees.
