UAE-based Nabta Health has secured a new injection of capital, closing a $2 million pre-Series A round that lifts its total funding to $4.5 million. The women-focused healthtech company is building an AI-enabled, hybrid care model designed around the specific needs and cultural realities of women in emerging markets. With this latest round, Nabta is positioning itself to scale across the Middle East and Africa while sharpening its focus on measurable clinical outcomes and employer-led health solutions.

Funding round and growth plans

The pre-Series A raise marks a significant milestone for Nabta Health as it moves from early validation into a broader growth phase. The company plans to channel the funds into expanding its mobile-first, AI-powered care platform that integrates virtual services, in-clinic support, and community-based interventions. By strengthening its technology stack and operational footprint, Nabta aims to bring its model of structured, evidence-based women’s healthcare to more markets across the MEA region.

Strategic use of capital

Nabta will use the new funding to deepen its relationships with employers, insurers, and healthcare providers that are increasingly looking for solutions to close the women’s health gap. The company intends to roll out additional diagnostic pathways and at-home testing services, allowing women to access advanced screening and monitoring without disrupting their daily lives. At the same time, it will work with leading hospitals to reinforce its clinical infrastructure, ensuring that digital journeys are backed by robust in-person care when needed.

Recognition and recent milestones

The funding comes on the back of a series of milestones that have raised Nabta’s profile as a regional health innovator. In 2025, the company was named to TIME Magazine’s list of Top HealthTech Companies, underscoring its growing influence in technology-enabled care. Nabta also launched a Women’s Health Center of Excellence with Clemenceau Medical Center Hospital Dubai and expanded its corporate health programs, signaling an increasing focus on integrated, enterprise-facing solutions.

Reimagining women’s healthcare in MEA

Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith and Dr Mussaad Al-Razouki, Nabta Health was built around a simple premise, that women’s healthcare in the region needed to be more accessible, data-driven, and culturally aware. The company’s hybrid model combines digital tools, at-home services, and clinic-based care to support women through every stage of life, from reproductive health to chronic disease management. Smith has emphasized that the new funding validates Nabta’s vision of an AI-powered, women-centered system that meets patients where they are, respects local context, and delivers quantifiable improvements in health and productivity.

For Nabta’s leadership, the round is both a vote of confidence and a catalyst for the next phase of execution. Chair Iain McMillan noted that the company has steadily grown its customer base through 2025 and is now poised to accelerate further as demand for specialized women’s health solutions rises. With fresh capital, expanding partnerships, and growing recognition, Nabta Health is tightening its grip on a clear objective, to become the reference point for measurable, tech-enabled women’s healthcare across the Middle East and Africa.
