Mygate, a leading community management startup, has successfully secured ₹225 crore ($23.6 million) in a new funding round led by Dharana Capital. This significant capital injection is earmarked to fuel the company's ambitious expansion plans across India's gated communities. The investment will also be used to enhance its integrated technology platform, reinforcing its market leadership in the proptech sector.

Strategic Expansion and Product Enhancement

The company plans to leverage this funding to nearly double its reach, targeting an increase from 5.7 million to 10 million homes. This strategy involves accelerating the sign-up process for new residential communities throughout the country. Mygate aims to capitalize on its established strength and solidify its presence as an essential service for modern urban living.

A substantial portion of the investment will be dedicated to product innovation to create a more robust and user-friendly experience. Mygate's cofounder and CEO, Abhishek Kumar, highlighted plans to introduce new functionalities such as a household payment calendar. These enhancements are designed to deepen the platform's integration into the daily lives of residents and management committees.

Beyond domestic growth, Mygate is setting its sights on international markets, with a particular focus on East Asia and the Middle East. The company is already conducting pilot programs in the Middle East to test and adapt its offerings for a global audience. This strategic move signals Mygate's ambition to become a key player in the global community management technology space.

Financial Growth and Profitability

Mygate has demonstrated strong financial performance, closing the 2026 fiscal year with a top line of ₹232 crore, a 34% increase from the previous year. The company also achieved profitability, reporting a healthy EBITDA margin between 10% and 12%. This financial milestone underscores the sustainability of its SaaS subscription model and operational efficiency.

This positive performance builds on a successful fiscal year in 2025, where the startup significantly reduced its net loss by 61% to ₹15.4 crore. The company noted that it would have been profitable a year earlier if not for ESOP and stock-related expenses. This trend highlights a disciplined approach to balancing rapid growth with financial prudence.

Looking forward, Mygate projects continued momentum with an expected 37% year-on-year growth in operating revenue for fiscal year 2027. The company is also confident in achieving positive Profit After Tax (PAT), solidifying its transition to a sustainably profitable enterprise. This forecast reflects a clear strategy for long-term value creation and market consolidation.

Investor Confidence and Market Position

Dharana Capital's investment reflects strong confidence in Mygate's business model and the broader market trend. Vamsi Duvvuri, the firm's founder, stated that the shift towards gated communities in urban India is an "irreversible trend." He emphasized that Mygate provides an essential platform to power these evolving residential ecosystems.

The transaction, which values Mygate between ₹2,100 crore and ₹2,300 crore, saw Dharana Capital acquire a 12-14% stake in the company. The deal structure included both a primary infusion of capital and secondary share sales. This allowed some of Mygate's early investors to achieve partial exits while reinforcing the company's financial position.

Since its founding in 2016, Mygate has evolved from a simple visitor management app into a comprehensive platform for over 27,000 communities. It now offers a wide array of services, including financial management, amenity bookings, and local commerce solutions. This evolution has cemented its position as a leader in India's burgeoning proptech industry.

This latest funding round positions Mygate to accelerate its next phase of growth, driven by domestic expansion, product innovation, and international exploration. With a proven track record of revenue growth and a clear path to sustained profitability, the company is well-equipped to strengthen its market dominance. The investment from Dharana Capital not only provides financial fuel but also serves as a strong endorsement of Mygate's vision for the future of community living.
