Mumbai-based medtech firm Bioscan Research has successfully secured US$1 million in a seed funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures. This capital infusion is earmarked to advance the company's mission of transforming early diagnosis for traumatic brain injuries. The funding will primarily support the market expansion and technological enhancement of its flagship device, CEREBO.


Addressing a Critical Gap in Emergency Care

Globally, an estimated 69 million people suffer from traumatic brain injuries each year, with a staggering 50 to 90 percent of mild cases going undiagnosed. These undetected injuries can lead to severe long-term complications, making rapid and accurate diagnosis within the critical "golden hour" essential. Bioscan Research aims to fill this significant gap in emergency medical services with its innovative technology.

Innovative Technology for Rapid Diagnosis

The company's core product, CEREBO, is a portable, non-invasive device that utilizes near-infrared spectroscopy and machine learning to detect intracranial bleeding. Bioscan Research is now targeting a three-fold growth trajectory in the upcoming year, driven by its planned expansion.
