Juspay, a global payments technology company headquartered in Bengaluru, India, announced on September 30, 2026, that it has brought Apple Pay to its Indian merchant ecosystem. The integration enables merchants operating on Juspay's network to add Apple Pay to their existing online payment flows without separate technical work. Customers gain an easy, secure, and private way to make purchases in apps and on the web.

Merchant Integration Without Extra Complexity

Merchants on Juspay's network can integrate Apple Pay directly into the payment flows they already operate. This means businesses do not need to build and manage a separate Apple Pay integration, which can reduce engineering effort and operational burden. Apple Pay is now available at participating merchants across sectors including travel, entertainment, fashion, quick commerce, and healthcare.

Customer Experience and Device Support

Customers can use Apple Pay on iPhone and iPad to complete purchases with greater speed and convenience in apps or on the web. Apple also plans to bring the service to Mac in the near future, expanding access across its product ecosystem. The payment method eliminates the need to create accounts or repeatedly enter contact details, card information, and shipping and billing data.

Security and Privacy at the Core

Apple Pay is designed with security and privacy as central priorities. When customers use a credit or debit card, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device or on Apple servers, and they are not shared with merchants. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, an industry-standard certified chip intended to safeguard payment information on the device.

Leadership Perspective

Sheetal Lalwani, Co-founder and COO of Juspay, said the company exists to ensure merchants can offer the payment methods their customers expect without managing complex integrations themselves. "By enabling Apple Pay for our merchant ecosystem, we are helping businesses offer customers greater choice in how they pay, as well as providing an easy, secure, and private checkout experience," Lalwani noted. His comments underscore Juspay's focus on reducing operational complexity while improving the checkout journey for users.

Simple Setup for Consumers

Setting up Apple Pay is a straightforward process on an iPhone. Customers simply open the Wallet app, tap the plus sign, and follow the steps to add an eligible credit or debit card. Once a card is added to iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad, the customer can start using Apple Pay on that device right away.

A Broader Push for Digital Payments

The rollout supports the growing adoption of digital payments in India by giving merchants another familiar payment option within their current checkout flows. Because Apple Pay is integrated through Juspay, businesses can broaden their payment choices without sacrificing the stability of their systems. This approach has the potential to strengthen customer trust and encourage more seamless online transactions.

The introduction of Apple Pay across Juspay's merchant ecosystem marks a meaningful step for digital payments in India. By removing integration barriers and prioritizing security, Juspay is helping merchants deliver the modern checkout experiences that consumers increasingly expect. As digital commerce continues to expand, collaborations of this kind are likely to shape the next stage of payment innovation in the country.
