Juspay, a global payments technology company, announced on September 8, 2026, that it is expanding its partnership with Wego, the largest online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa. The strengthened collaboration is designed to support Wego's continued growth across the Middle East as the company enters new markets in the region. Juspay will enable the rapid integration of local payment service providers, acquirers, banks, and local payment methods, allowing travellers to check out with familiar options.

Tailoring Payments for Regional Travel

Wego has built its platform around the needs of a highly diverse regional audience that searches and compares flights and hotels from hundreds of providers. As Wego expands its presence, strengthening the payments layer has become a natural extension of the overall travel experience. Payment preferences across markets can vary widely, ranging from debit and credit cards to digital wallets and other locally preferred methods.

Efficient Checkout Adaptation

Through the partnership, Wego can bring new payment partners on board more efficiently and broaden the range of payment options available to travellers in different markets. The collaboration combines Wego's understanding of MENA travellers and local market dynamics with Juspay's payment orchestration capabilities. This enables Wego to adapt its checkout experience as it scales while maintaining the simplicity, relevance, and reliability that travellers expect from its platform.

Improved Authorisation and Reliability

Since partnering with Juspay, Wego has reported stronger payment performance across its platform, supported by intelligent transaction routing and 3D Secure optimisation. Automated retries help recover eligible failed payments that would otherwise be lost during checkout. Unified error mapping further provides greater visibility into payment issues, enabling faster resolution across providers.

Leadership Perspective from Wego

Alexandre Morin, Director Payments, Risk and Fintech at Wego, said that Wego has built its leadership in MENA by understanding how travellers search, compare, and book travel and by continuously adapting the platform to their evolving needs. He noted that payments are an important part of that experience. As Wego scales across markets with different payment behaviours, the partnership with Juspay offers flexibility to provide more locally relevant ways to pay while maintaining a simple and reliable booking journey.

Leadership Perspective from Juspay

Nakul Kothari, Head of APAC and Middle East at Juspay, said that travel payments need to work reliably across markets where customer preferences and payment infrastructure can vary significantly. He described Wego's scale and deep understanding of travellers across the Middle East as important to the partnership. By combining regional expertise with payment orchestration technology, Juspay can help Wego adapt to local payment ecosystems while supporting a consistent experience as the business continues to grow.

Global Scale and Infrastructure

Juspay's unified payment orchestration layer allows Wego to connect with more than 300 payment service providers and acquirers globally. This gives the travel marketplace greater flexibility to introduce payment methods across markets without complex individual integrations. Juspay's global infrastructure processes more than 300 million transactions daily and surpasses $1 trillion in annualised total payment volume with 99.999 percent uptime.

The expanded partnership brings together Wego's regional travel expertise and consumer understanding with Juspay's global payments technology and infrastructure. As Wego continues to expand its services across the Middle East and internationally, the two companies plan to explore tailored payment solutions that meet evolving business and customer needs. The collaboration ultimately aims to make the journey from travel discovery to successful booking increasingly seamless and locally relevant.
