HTBeyond, the operator of the apartment living platform Byby, has officially introduced an AI manager app designed to support building management offices. Alongside the launch, the company announced a new mission to connect people, spaces, and services through technology to create more valuable daily life, as well as a 2030 vision to become South Korea's AI residential service platform company. The move signals a broader transition from fragmented residential services toward more integrated and personalized living experiences.
AI Parking Enforcement Removes Hardware Barriers
The most distinctive feature of the manager app is AI-based parking enforcement that requires no separate recognition cameras or servers. A management employee only needs to open the smartphone app and point it at a vehicle for the license plate to be recognized automatically. Because all recognition processing occurs on the device, the tool works in underground parking areas without network access and extends enforcement to issues such as double parking and unauthorized use of accessible spaces.
In-House AI Model Achieves High Accuracy
HTBeyond designed and trained the license plate recognition AI internally. The model learned from roughly 90,000 real license plate images and more than 1 million synthetic images that combine actual field photos with changing Korean plate formats across different years. In performance evaluations using only real images excluded from training, the system recorded a 97.8% exact match rate and 99.2% character level accuracy.
Resident App Adds Three AI Reports
The Byby resident app now features three new AI report services for residents. A Weekly AI Report organizes community notices, maintenance fee updates, and community activity into a weekly summary. A Parking AI Report uses the most recent 4 weeks of entry and exit data to highlight congestion patterns and available times, while a Community AI Report presents facility congestion levels and user characteristics.
Daily Life Services and Discovery Commerce Expand
HTBeyond has also expanded its residential services through a new housework tab launched this month. The tab introduces contactless household waste collection and mobile car wash services, alongside discovery commerce and market sections that naturally present products for residential life. These additions build on the company's existing IoT foundation, which already connects remote home device control, visitor parking reservations, and community facility access in a single app.
From Fragmented IoT Services to Integrated AI Convenience
Until now, HTBeyond has focused on expanding an integrated residential service that connects home appliance control, visitor parking, and community facility use within one app. With the new manager app and AI reports, the company is moving to the next stage of adding essential everyday services and more personalized convenience. The approach reflects its stated goal of combining people, spaces, and services through technology rather than treating housing services as separate functions.
Leadership and Platform Ambitions
HTBeyond CEO Lee Geon-gu said the manager app and AI reports are the first step in translating the company's new mission and vision into actual services. He added that the company will continue collaborating with various lifestyle service brands to expand its residential offerings. Byby currently serves more than 1 million users across over 1,000 apartment complexes nationwide, providing a substantial foundation for AI-driven growth.
The launch of the AI manager app and resident-focused AI reports positions HTBeyond to strengthen its role in the evolving apartment living market. By combining on-device AI, resident data, and daily life services, the company is building a more connected and personalized residential experience. Its expanded strategy points toward a future in which technology anticipates resident needs and improves both management efficiency and everyday convenience.
