Herd Security has raised $3 million to advance its AI-powered platform for continuous security training and workforce simulation. The San Francisco-based startup said the round includes strategic investment from Aspiron Ventures, with participation from Team Ignite, ForwardSlash VC, Forum Ventures, Rightside Capital, and YPO. The company plans to use the funding to expand product development, strengthen AI-generated video capabilities, and build a broader partner ecosystem.

Addressing a Faster-Moving Threat Landscape

The announcement comes as organizations face a growing wave of AI-enabled social engineering threats that are becoming more targeted and difficult to detect. Herd Security argues that traditional annual compliance training is no longer sufficient for preparing employees against fast-changing risks. Its platform is designed to help security and governance, risk, and compliance teams create ongoing training programs that adapt as new threats emerge.

A Platform Built for Continuous Training

Founded in 2025, Herd Security positions itself as an agentic AI creative platform for security awareness, training, and simulation. Instead of relying on static courses or one-size-fits-all modules, the company enables practitioners to generate tailored content based on internal policies, compliance frameworks, and current threat scenarios. Training can be delivered through formats such as text, video, images, and conversational AI across tools employees already use, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, and learning management systems.

Investor and Customer Support

Brandon Min, Herd Security’s CEO and co-founder, said the challenge in security awareness has often been execution rather than expertise. He said the platform is intended to help teams turn their knowledge into relevant, engaging programs without requiring additional operational resources. Aspiron Ventures partner Oliver Legg said the investment reflects confidence in Herd’s ability to modernize how organizations operationalize workforce security training.

Shifting From Compliance to Behavior Change

Herd’s approach reflects a broader shift in enterprise security, where employee behavior is increasingly viewed as a critical layer of defense. The company points to the widening gap between the pace of AI-driven attacks and the years often required to build lasting security habits across an organization. By enabling same-day creation of targeted microlearning content, Herd aims to make security awareness more frequent, contextual, and embedded in everyday workflows.

The $3 million round gives Herd Security additional capital to scale its platform at a time when AI is reshaping both cyber threats and defensive strategies. Its focus on continuous, AI-assisted training addresses a clear pain point for security teams seeking to move beyond periodic awareness programs. As enterprises look for more adaptive ways to reduce human risk, Herd is positioning itself as a partner for organizations that need security education to evolve as quickly as the threats they face.
