Heidi, an AI care partner used by clinicians worldwide, has secured US$340 million in new funding to expand its role beyond medical documentation. The financing includes a US$100 million Series C round led by Blackbird and a US$240 million growth investment led by General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. The Series C values Heidi at US$900 million and will support its move into supervised clinical action across global health systems.

Funding details and investor support

The Series C round included participation from existing investors Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments, and Headline. General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund was designed to help companies with strong unit economics scale their go-to-market engines while preserving balance sheet capacity for product development. Together, the new capital gives Heidi substantial resources to deepen adoption inside complex health systems and accelerate product investment.

Clinical demand and rapid growth

Heidi’s platform now supports approximately 2.8 million patient interactions every week across 190 countries and 110 languages. Since its launch two years ago, the company has supported more than 175 million patient visits and over 67 million clinical hours. Annual recurring revenue grew from US$1 million to US$50 million by April 2026, reflecting rapid adoption among clinicians and health organizations.

Enterprise adoption across health systems

Since its Series B, Heidi has been adopted by major public and private health systems, with an enterprise activation rate around 62 percent. In the United States, Beth Israel Lahey Health uses the platform, and in the United Kingdom Heidi was selected as sole supplier for NHS England Midlands in the largest clinical AI procurement in NHS history. Deployments in Australia and New Zealand include children’s hospitals, Queensland Health services, Metro South Health, and every emergency department in New Zealand.

Product evolution beyond the scribe

Heidi has moved beyond transcription into a connected platform that supports the wider clinical day, with deeper integrations into major electronic health record systems worldwide. Heidi Evidence, launched in March 2026, has answered more than 10 million queries by giving clinicians context-aware guidance at the point of care. The company has also introduced Remote, a wearable audio device for clinical settings, and Dictate, a voice-to-text feature.

Clinical AI and regulatory discipline

Heidi invested early in purpose-built clinical AI rather than relying solely on frontier models, with transcription and note generation running almost entirely on in-house technology. This approach allows the company to optimize accuracy, latency, and cost while reinvesting savings into product development. The new funding will support clinical evidence, quality management systems, and regulatory submissions required for agentic capabilities, although the coming product capabilities will not be available in the UK and EU.

Investor confidence in Heidi’s approach

Blackbird General Partner Michael Tolo said the firm’s conviction is stronger than ever because Heidi invested early in understanding clinician needs and building its own models. Headline Partner Taylor Brandt highlighted the platform’s ability to move from easing administrative burden to helping care teams manage more of the clinical day. Both investors pointed to adoption across rigorous clinical settings as evidence of clinician trust.

With this US$340 million financing, Heidi is positioned to expand from documentation into supervised action and pursue its ambition of giving clinicians more time for patient care. The company’s rapid growth, enterprise deployments, and investment in purpose-built clinical AI suggest strong momentum in a global health sector facing severe workforce shortages. By combining equity capital with a large growth investment, Heidi aims to scale its AI Care Partner while maintaining the safety and regulatory foundations that health systems require.
