Defense technology startup Heaviside Industries has secured a $60 million Series B funding round, achieving a remarkable $600 million valuation just three months after its last financing. This significant capital injection is coupled with a strategic partnership with Nammo, a leading Norwegian munitions manufacturer. The dual announcement signals Heaviside's aggressive strategy to scale production and solidify its supply chain in the competitive precision munitions market.

A Strategic Partnership for Scalable Production

Heaviside has proactively addressed a common industry bottleneck by partnering with Nammo to secure its warhead supply chain early. This agreement provides the Los Angeles-based startup with access to an established European industrial base, a crucial advantage for manufacturing at scale. The collaboration is designed to deliver fully integrated and cost-effective precision munitions to customers with greater speed and reliability.

Surging Valuation in a Hot Sector

The new financing was led by Felicis, with notable participation from Hedosophia and Menlo Ventures, bringing Heaviside's total funding to $88 million. This round represents a more than 21-fold increase in the company's valuation since its $28 million Series A in May. Such rapid growth reflects intense investor interest in a defense tech sector that has seen giants like Anduril and Stark achieve multi-billion dollar valuations.

The Growing Precision Munitions Market

Heaviside is entering a market experiencing significant expansion, with the precision-guided munitions sector valued at over $37 billion and projected to approach $50 billion by 2030. The fastest-growing segment within this market is loitering munitions, which are central to modern warfare doctrines. This robust market growth provides a strong tailwind for innovative companies capable of delivering advanced and reliable systems.

Innovating for Modern Warfare

Founded in 2024 by CEO Phillip Walker, Heaviside develops autonomous precision munitions for air, land, and sea applications. The company's technology is specifically engineered to operate effectively in GPS-denied or jammed environments where traditional guided weapons often fail. With a team of over fifty engineers, Heaviside operates from facilities in Los Angeles and Oslo to meet these complex defense demands.

Future Expansion and Industry Impact

The company plans to allocate the new capital toward expanding its production capacity, accelerating hiring, and fulfilling existing customer commitments. A significant portion of the funds will also support the expansion of its operational footprint across the United States. According to CEO Phillip Walker, this combination of funding and partnership positions Heaviside to quickly scale and deliver its solutions to warfighters worldwide.

Heaviside Industries' latest funding round and its partnership with Nammo mark a pivotal moment for the young company, providing both the capital and the industrial foundation for rapid growth. By securing a critical part of its supply chain upfront, the startup has distinguished itself in a crowded and capital-rich defense market. The focus now shifts to execution, as Heaviside aims to convert its strategic advantages into tangible deliveries for its global defense clients.
