The app introduces bank-grade identity verification and a behavioral accountability system built from a rapidly growing global community. Founder Andrew Steele said the move represents a bold pivot toward fulfilling the company’s core mission rather than departing from it.
A Strategic Pivot Driven by User Feedback
Originally created as an independent behavioral database that worked alongside existing dating apps, Guardian Flame gave users a way to review past dates and identify harmful behavior. The model grew quickly through modest advertising and word of mouth, attracting 160,000 global members in six months. However, users consistently reported that they still had to return to mainstream apps to meet people and continued to encounter bad experiences.
From Accountability Database to Full Platform
The original concept was less about matchmaking and more about accountability. People were exhibiting harmful conduct across multiple dates with different partners and facing no consequences because each new match provided a clean slate. The database is described as the world’s only behavioral database of its kind, giving daters real context before a first meeting.
Bank-Grade Verification and Behavioral Scoring
The new platform requires every member to confirm their identity through government-issued identification matched to facial biometrics, using the same infrastructure trusted by banks and government agencies.
