Fortem Technologies has closed a US$50 million Series B funding round led by Lockheed Martin, which committed US$25 million in the initial tranche announced earlier this year. The round also includes participation from Unusual Machines and other strategic and institutional investors. The capital will support scaled production and global deployment of the company's integrated airspace security and counter-drone portfolio.

Scaling Airspace Security Capabilities

The company will use the Series B investment to accelerate manufacturing at its Lindon, Utah facility and expand fielding of the SkyDome Family of Systems. This layered architecture combines TrueView radar sensors, AI-powered command-and-control software, and DroneHunter autonomous interceptors. The system is designed to detect, track, classify, and defeat hostile or unauthorized aerial threats.

Expanding Production in Utah

The Lindon, Utah facility will serve as the primary production hub for Fortem's expanded manufacturing efforts. The company plans to increase output of TrueView radar sensors, DroneHunter interceptors, and associated command-and-control systems. This capacity expansion is intended to reduce delivery timelines for customers in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Recent Contract Milestones

Recent milestones underscore the pace of demand for integrated airspace protection. Fortem has secured a multimillion-dollar Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract to protect 2026 FIFA World Cup venues and a U.S. Army contract to defend installations worldwide. In August, the company became the only small business selected by DHS as a prime contractor on a five-year counter-UAS hardware and software contract with an estimated starting ceiling of US$1.011 billion.

Growing Threat Environment

The rise of hostile and unauthorized drones is creating new risks for civilian airports, public venues, and military installations. Security agencies are seeking integrated systems that can detect, track, and neutralize threats without causing collateral damage. Fortem's layered architecture is designed to address these requirements by combining radar, software, and autonomous interceptors in a single operational system.

Executive and Investor Commentary

Charlie O'Connell, Chief Business Officer at Fortem Technologies, said the round reflects strong validation from aerospace and defense investors. "The threat is real, demand is here, and our technology is proven in real-world environments, from the Middle East to Europe to the World Cup," O'Connell stated. He added that the capital lets Fortem scale to meet accelerating demand for its products.

Strategic Alignment with Lockheed Martin

Stephanie C. Hill, President of Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, said partners need counter-UAS capabilities that can move faster than the threat. Hill added that solutions must be fielded quickly, scaled in volume, and adapted rapidly. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering the right capability at an affordable cost and at the speed of relevance, she said.

Operational Deployment and Market Position

Fortem is the only company authorized to deploy a drone-on-drone kinetic interceptor in U.S. airspace, and its technology has been validated in Ukraine, the Middle East, and East Asia. The company is headquartered in Lindon, Utah and remains privately held with backing from aerospace, defense, venture, and private-equity investors. Its SkyDome family supports military, government, and commercial operations worldwide.

The closing of the US$50 million Series B round positions Fortem Technologies to meet growing demand for integrated counter-drone solutions across critical infrastructure, major events, and defense installations. With Lockheed Martin leading the investment and strategic investors joining, the company has additional capital and commercial momentum to scale its Utah manufacturing base. Fortem expects continued deployment of its SkyDome architecture as security agencies and allied forces confront increasingly sophisticated autonomous aerial threats.
