Indian building materials quick-commerce startup Fixxly has raised $5.5 million in seed funding from Accel, Fireside Ventures, and Lightspeed India Partners. The Bengaluru-based company is building an on-demand procurement platform designed to reduce construction delays caused by missing materials at active worksites. The financing comes ahead of Fixxly’s planned commercial launch in Bengaluru on September 1, followed by expansion into additional Indian cities.
Tackling Construction Supply Delays
Fixxly is targeting inefficiencies in India’s fragmented construction and home-improvement supply chain, where contractors, designers, tradespeople, and homeowners often depend on networks of local dealers. Traditional suppliers generally serve planned purchases, but urgent requirements can be difficult to fulfill quickly, leaving workers idle and delaying projects when a single component is unavailable. The startup aims to address this problem by making commonly needed building materials available through an on-demand ordering and delivery service.
The company was founded in 2026 by Shezan Bhojani and Sachith Varma, with Bhojani serving as co-founder and chief executive officer. Fixxly is developing a digital procurement layer connecting customers, suppliers, inventory locations, and delivery operations across the building materials ecosystem. Its broader objective is to ensure that worksites receive the correct materials when required rather than waiting for next-day delivery.
AI-Powered Fulfillment Model
Fixxly’s platform is supported by an artificial intelligence-powered supply network and a system of local dark stores. The technology is designed to match customer orders with real-time product availability, demand patterns, and the nearest fulfillment location, allowing selected materials to reach worksites in approximately 30 minutes. Potential orders include electrical wire, plumbing fittings, paint, hardware, and other products whose absence can interrupt ongoing construction or interior work.
The startup plans to use the new capital to strengthen its technology infrastructure and expand its operational capabilities before and after the Bengaluru launch. Establishing a reliable rapid-delivery service in this sector will require accurate inventory tracking, supplier coordination, demand forecasting, and efficient local warehousing across a broad product range. Fixxly’s ability to maintain product availability and delivery speed will be central to its expansion into other cities.
Investor Support
Investors backing the round see an opportunity to modernize a large but fragmented industry through technology and quick-commerce infrastructure. Accel Partner Prashanth Prakash said building material procurement remains dependent on local suppliers and unpredictable delivery schedules, while describing Fixxly’s AI-driven network as a way to introduce greater speed and reliability. Lightspeed India similarly highlighted quick commerce as a format capable of serving customers at the moment materials are urgently required.
Lightspeed also cited Bhojani’s experience building supplier relationships and understanding customer needs as an important factor supporting its investment. The investor said Fixxly has the potential to build infrastructure that consolidates supply across a multi-billion-dollar industry while helping construction professionals avoid lost working hours. The participation of Fireside Ventures adds another commerce-focused investor to the company’s first institutional funding round.
Building a New Quick-Commerce Category
Fixxly is applying a delivery model widely used for groceries and consumer essentials to a category with more complex inventory and purchasing requirements. Building materials vary significantly by dimensions, specifications, brands, and applications, making rapid fulfillment more operationally demanding than conventional quick commerce. The company will therefore need to balance delivery speed with product accuracy, supplier reliability, inventory costs, and sufficient demand around each dark store.
Its Bengaluru launch will provide an early test of whether contractors and other customers are prepared to move urgent purchases from familiar local dealers to a technology-led platform. A successful rollout could create a more organized procurement channel for construction professionals while giving suppliers structured access to real-time demand. It could also demonstrate whether rapid delivery can become a sustainable model for specialized physical products rather than only everyday consumer goods.
Fixxly’s $5.5 million seed round gives the young company additional resources to launch and develop its AI-enabled building materials delivery network. By combining digital procurement, local inventory, and rapid fulfillment, the startup is seeking to reduce costly downtime across construction and interior projects. Its performance in Bengaluru and subsequent expansion will determine whether quick commerce can become a meaningful distribution model for India’s fragmented building materials market.
