Mumbai-based design and technology brand EDT, founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao, has secured US$2.4 million in an oversubscribed Pre-Series A funding round led by existing investor Sauce and current angel investors. The capital will support inventory, product launches, and team expansion as the company moves beyond kitchen appliances into beauty-tech. The round reflects growing investor confidence in premium, design-led consumer devices in India.

Funding Details and Investor Backing

Existing investor Sauce and several existing angels doubled down on EDT in the latest funding round. New participants include venture debt firm Alteria Capital, Nicobar cofounder Raul Rai, Atomberg founders Shibam Das and Arindam Paul, Delhivery's Ajith Pai, and Samsonite's Anushree Tainwala. The company described the Pre-Series A round as oversubscribed and said it follows a US$1.4 million round in December 2025.

Capital Deployment and Company Priorities

EDT will deploy the fresh capital to build inventory ahead of the festive season across its direct-to-consumer platform, marketplaces, and retail channels. The funding will also support new product launches and strengthen growth, supply chain, brand, and product teams. The investment positions the company to scale operations during a critical sales period.

Early Traction and Market Momentum

EDT launched its first products only seven months ago and has quickly become one of India's fastest-growing premium device brands. LUMA, its non-toxic PureGlass air fryer oven, is the top-selling premium non-toxic air fryer in the market, while FLOW reimagines the kettle as a precision hydration and wellness device. Products are available on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma, FoodStories, and the brand's D2C platform.

Amazon has emerged as a particularly strong growth engine, with EDT's business on the marketplace scaling nearly 7X between March and July 2026. The brand was also the first and youngest in its category to be onboarded by Croma. This omnichannel traction has helped EDT establish a distinct position in the new-age appliance market.

Intelligent Care and Beauty-Tech Expansion

EDT's product philosophy is built on Intelligent Care, which uses technology, design, materials, and engineering to create appliances that care for consumers and their daily routines. The company says intelligence is not about adding more features but about designing outcomes through care. LUMA uses NutriRetain Tech to unlock more nutrition, while FLOW uses Cl-arity Tech to make water purer and beverages more flavorful.

SUKI Brings Intelligent Beauty to Hair Care

SUKI is EDT's first beauty-tech device and the first product in its Intelligent Beauty portfolio. It is a Care-Dryer built on the patent-pending CareDry Algorithm, which combines precise heat and airflow cycles with plasma ions. The device is clinically tested to amplify hair strength and integrity by 110% over multiple uses while reducing static, breakage, and frizz.

SUKI's dual AirSense sensors read hair and airflow conditions 100 times a second and automatically calibrate heat to stay within a hair-safe window. It includes a magnetic concentrator nozzle, a magnetic diffuser, the GripSense feature, and a full LED display with an AirSense Living Colour Ring. The product launches in the Space Neon colorway at a limited-time pre-order price of ₹8,499 on EDT's D2C platform first.

What's Next for EDT

EDT has three more new product launches in the pipeline across home, kitchen, and beauty-tech. The company's next growth phase will focus on research and development, strategic omnichannel distribution, community building, and select team expansion. It also plans to extend its design and technology platform beyond individual appliance categories into a broader consumer portfolio.

EDT's latest Pre-Series A round signals growing investor appetite for premium, design-led consumer appliances in India. The company is moving quickly from kitchen devices into beauty-tech with SUKI and a broader Intelligent Beauty portfolio. With strong early traction and a clear product roadmap, EDT is positioning itself as a multi-category consumer design and technology platform.
