Agentic AI company Dust has successfully closed a $40 million Series B funding round to advance its mission of transforming enterprise workflows. The investment was co-led by Abstract and Sequoia, with significant participation from Snowflake Ventures and Datadog. Dust aims to move beyond isolated AI interactions by creating a collaborative "multiplayer" system where humans and AI agents work together with shared context and goals.

Addressing the 'Single-Player' AI Bottleneck

Many companies have adopted AI tools, yet they often operate in a "single-player" mode, limiting their organizational impact. An individual prompts an assistant and receives an answer, but this context remains confined to a private chat, preventing knowledge from compounding across teams. This fragmentation leads to redundant work, as different departments often start from scratch on related tasks, hindering true collective intelligence.

A New Operating System for Collaboration

Dust presents its platform as the operating system for AI agents, designed to facilitate seamless human-agent collaboration. It enables businesses to deploy, orchestrate, and govern fleets of specialized AI agents that work alongside employees. The system is built around a shared workspace where teams and agents access the same projects, conversations, and tools, fostering a unified operational environment.

The platform's intelligence layer connects to over 100 data sources, allowing agents to work with relevant company context and execute actions. Built-in memory and reinforcement loops help agents learn from interactions, understand user preferences, and proactively suggest improvements over time. This ensures that the AI's impact grows and adapts to the organization's evolving needs, all while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and security.

Strong Investor Confidence and Market Validation

The funding round highlights strong investor confidence in Dust's vision, which is backed by impressive market traction. The platform is already used by over 3,000 organizations, where more than 300,000 agents have been deployed. The company reports 70 percent weekly active usage across its customer base and has experienced zero churn, signaling a strong product-market fit.

Investors have praised Dust's innovative approach to enterprise AI. Konstantine Buhler, Partner at Sequoia, noted that Dust is building the multiplayer system where agents and humans share context to work together across the company. Ramtin Naimi, General Partner at Abstract, added that Dust empowers users to build agents that collaborate across teams and rewire how the entire company works.

Future Growth and Empowering AI Operators

With the new capital, Dust plans to advance its platform on three key fronts: developing agents that learn and improve automatically, enhancing collaboration features, and scaling its infrastructure for enterprise-level governance. The company was founded by Gabriel Hubert and Stanislas Polu, who bring experience from companies like Stripe and OpenAI. Their founding thesis was that while AI models were powerful, the product layer to deploy them effectively was missing.

Dust is built for what the company calls "AI Operators," the functional experts within organizations who are closest to the work. These individuals, from marketers to RevOps managers, can use the platform to redesign core business processes without needing deep technical expertise. This strategy empowers employees to become architects of a more intelligent and collaborative operational model for their companies.

The $40 million investment marks a significant milestone for Dust and reflects a broader market shift toward more integrated and collaborative AI solutions. By focusing on compounding organizational intelligence rather than just individual productivity, the company is positioned to redefine how enterprises harness AI. This funding will accelerate Dust's efforts to build the foundational system for the next generation of AI-powered organizations.
