Amsterdam-based healthtech startup Blue Health Intelligence announced on September 30, 2026, that it has secured €3.4 million in growth funding to accelerate its expansion and product development. The round was led by Knop Investments and included participation from experienced entrepreneurs Jeroen Tas and Anna Nooshin. The capital injection follows an earlier investment round of more than €1.1 million and will support the company’s ambition to make preventive health checks more accessible.
Funding for a Prevention-First Health Platform
Founded in 2025 by former Swapfiets and Tibber CCO Onno Huyghe and physician and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck, Blue Health Intelligence offers a self-developed 360-degree health check for €299. The assessment provides participants with insight into their health within one hour. More than 2,000 people have scheduled a physical health check at the company’s Prinsengracht location in Amsterdam since its launch.
A Data-Rich Assessment and Immediate Medical Feedback
During each appointment, participants receive an evaluation of cardiovascular health, metabolism, liver function, and kidney function based on hundreds of different data points. The results are discussed directly with a physician after the assessment and uploaded to the Blue app. Blue Health Intelligence currently works with partners including TrainMore, Hotel & Wellness Zuiver, and Fosbury & Sons Amsterdam.
International Expansion Targets Paris or Milan
Beyond its domestic growth, Blue Health Intelligence is preparing to enter new European markets. CEO Onno Huyghe said Italy and France are the most attractive destinations for the company, with internal research suggesting that Paris and Milan have potential comparable to Amsterdam. The startup expects to launch in one of those two cities during the first half of 2027.
Making Prevention Routine in Healthcare
Leanne Verdonck, physician and co-founder, emphasized that periodic health checks are already part of healthcare systems in countries such as Japan, Germany, and England but remain less common in the Netherlands. She said the company’s goal is to make periodic health checks as normal as a visit to the dentist. By offering earlier insight into health, the startup aims to help people stay healthy longer and prevent health problems from developing.
A Shift Toward Preventive Care
The company’s self-developed assessment combines clinical testing and digital reporting to create a consistent experience for users. This model supports repeat visits and long-term health tracking, which is central to its prevention strategy. By making personal health data more accessible, the startup aims to shift focus from treatment to prevention.
Investor Confidence and Preventive Care Mission
Knop Investments director Maurits Koning said Blue Health Intelligence has shown over the past year that demand for insight into personal health is real. He noted that more than 2,000 people have scheduled health checks and that the Amsterdam location is fully booked through November. The investment is intended to give the founding team room to expand, refine its products, and enter new markets together.
With fresh capital and experienced backers, Blue Health Intelligence is positioned to scale its preventive health model beyond the Netherlands. The company’s combination of a fixed-price health check, immediate physician feedback, and digital access through its app addresses a growing demand for early health insight. Its planned entry into France or Italy could mark a meaningful step toward becoming a leading preventive health platform in Europe.
