German security technology company Arcos has closed a seed financing round worth 5.5 million euros to accelerate the development of its integrated security operations platform. The Munich-based firm combines sensor monitoring, signal processing, and incident management in a single system for customers managing residential, commercial, and critical infrastructure sites. Investors in the round include High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital, and strategic business angels.
A New Model for Civilian Security
The security sector is experiencing a fundamental shift as connected sensors are deployed across homes, commercial buildings, railway stations, substations, and data centres. At the same time, fewer operational staff are available to monitor these environments and turn alerts into action. Arcos is designed to fill this gap by providing a full service platform that connects every signal into one control centre.
From Sensor Alerts to Incident Resolution
Arcos brings together monitoring, decision making, escalation, and documentation within one operational system. Instead of relying on separate tools from different software vendors, users can detect an incident, assess its severity, escalate it appropriately, and record every step. The company develops and operates both the software platform and the control centre infrastructure, enabling it to refine workflows based on real operational experience.
Seed Round and Investor Support
The seed round was backed by High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital, and strategic business angels. High-Tech Gründerfonds counts the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW Capital among its investors, bringing public and private capital into the round. The investment reflects confidence in Arcos as a civilian security provider that is fully operational and driven by modern technology.
Critical Infrastructure Under Increasing Strain
Recent threats such as attacks on substations, burning cable shafts near railway lines, and drones over airports and industrial facilities highlight the risks facing unprotected infrastructure. Many of these sites are not monitored around the clock, which allows incidents to go unnoticed until damage is significant. Arcos argues that this structural change can only be managed with new technology and faster operational response.
Expansion Plans
With the new capital, Arcos plans to expand its team in Germany, extend its product portfolio, and prepare the market rollout for critical infrastructure applications. The company is initially focusing on the critical infrastructure market before moving into additional European markets. This stepwise approach allows the platform to be adapted and proven in demanding environments.
Industry Presence
Arcos will be present at Security Essen, the international trade fair for the security industry, from 22 to 25 September. Louis Wübben will speak at the critical infrastructure forum on 25 September about the company's approach to modern security operations. The company has already completed several certification processes and assembled a qualified team, supporting its operational readiness.
