Aeon, a Zurich-based preventive healthcare company, has closed a seed extension and acquired German blood diagnostics platform Aware Health, strengthening its AI-powered health screening capabilities. The extension lifts the company's total seed funding above €12 million, or approximately $14 million. The acquisition adds recurring blood biomarker data and laboratory infrastructure to Aeon's existing whole-body MRI service, creating a more continuous preventive health model.

Funding Round and Investor Backing

The seed extension was co-led by Araya Ventures, with participation from existing investors Concentric, GoHub Ventures, Kadmos Capital, Calm/Storm Ventures, N&V Capital, and Bigwave Capital. Aeon had previously raised €8.2 million in June 2025, and the latest commitment brings total seed funding to more than €12 million. The company said the acquisition of Aware Health will accelerate its product vision by about two years, giving it the resources needed to execute its preventive health strategy.

A New Direction in Preventive Care

Tim Seithe, founder and CEO of Aeon, described the company's approach as a shift from reaction to action, combining imaging, blood diagnostics, and artificial intelligence to predict health risks. He explained that imaging shows where a person is, blood diagnostics indicate where they are heading, and AI connects the two into meaningful prediction. Rupa Popat, General Partner at Araya Ventures, added that Aeon is building a longitudinal health picture no other European platform currently offers.

European Preventive Health Momentum

EU-Startups has reported approximately €667 million across relevant and adjacent European preventive health rounds in 2026, though €612.7 million of that total came from Neko Health's Series C. Among the closest comparisons are Zurich-based Ahead Health, which raised €5.1 million in January and a further €8.7 million in July, and Paris-based Lucis, which secured €17.1 million for its AI-supported blood biomarker platform. Other adjacent rounds include Moonlight AI, En Carta Diagnostics, and iPremom, illustrating broader momentum in early detection and personalized prevention.

Combining Whole-Body MRI with Blood Biomarkers

Aeon's platform uses whole-body MRI to detect more than 500 possible anomalies across the brain, organs, and vessels, alongside blood diagnostics covering more than 100 biomarkers and analysis of genetic risks. AI models process this multimodal information to deliver personalized risk predictions and tailored health interventions. By combining an episodic imaging tool with recurring blood testing, the company aims to maintain a continuous, longitudinal health record for each customer.

Early Clinical Signals and German Growth

More than 90 percent of Aeon check-ups already produce findings that customers can act on, while the significant finding rate stands at 15.4 percent. The company has been live in Germany since early 2026 and identifies Germany as its fastest-growing market. The acquisition provides Aeon with a regulated diagnostics stack, live laboratory integrations, a nationwide network of more than 45 blood-draw locations, and an established customer base in Europe's largest healthcare economy.

Aware Health Integration and AI Expansion

Aware Health adds a consumer blood diagnostics platform with a regulated diagnostics stack, live laboratory integrations, more than 100 biomarkers, and close to 10,000 active customers. Its network of over 45 blood-draw locations and Berlin team will continue under the Aeon brand, and customer data will only transfer with explicit consent under GDPR. Aeon also named Pablo Tano as AI Lead to develop models that combine imaging, blood biomarkers, and genetic data for personalized risk prediction.

Aeon enters its next phase with fresh funding, an integrated diagnostics platform, and a growing presence in Germany. The company aims to consolidate the preventive health category across Europe by making continuous, personalized monitoring more accessible to consumers. With imaging, recurring blood testing, and AI united in one platform, Aeon is positioning itself as a distinctive operator in the region's fast-evolving preventive healthcare market.
