Applications are currently open for the 2026 YouthConnekt Africa Export Accelerator (E-Accelerator), a results-driven initiative developed in partnership with the UNDP and the African Union. The program is designed to enable export-ready, youth-led enterprises to scale into intra-African markets under the AfCFTA framework, with a particular focus on its Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade. It aims to address significant barriers that limit youth participation in regional trade, such as complex customs procedures, regulatory compliance gaps, and weak aggregation mechanisms.
Program Overview
• Program Focus: The E-Accelerator adopts a systemic approach that extends beyond traditional capacity building, ensuring enterprises receive comprehensive support to overcome market expansion barriers.
• Key Offerings: The initiative provides tailored diagnostics, enterprise strengthening, export-readiness accreditation, and improved access to finance.
• Strategic Goals: The program aims to drive measurable market expansion, mobilize investment, and foster sustainable job creation across the continent.
• Policy Sandboxes: Through the establishment of Policy Sandboxes, starting with a pilot phase in six countries, the program will help qualified enterprises navigate and address non-tariff barriers, facilitating smoother export processes and enhancing their ability to participate in intra-African trade.
Eligibility Criteria
• Age: Applicants must be under 35 years old.
• Location: Entrepreneurs must be from Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, The Gambia, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
• Business Stage: Applicants must own or operate an already established business.
• Business Readiness: The business should be ready to explore expansion beyond its domestic market.
• Ambition: Applicants should be interested in building a competitive enterprise capable of participating in intra-African trade.
