Entries are open for the 2026 South African Startup Awards, an initiative organised by Startup Club ZA to recognise innovative early-stage technology startups in South Africa. Now in its fourth year, the awards provide a national platform for emerging tech ventures across multiple sectors, with winners determined through public voting and evaluation by an expert judging panel.

Eligibility Criteria

- Deeptech startups are exempt from the revenue and substantial user growth requirements
- Eligible startups may enter a maximum of two award categories

Voting, Judging and Key Dates
- Application deadline: 30 October 2026, 11:00 GMT+1 (12:00 SAST)
- Public voting period: 2–6 November 2026
- Public voting helps determine shortlists of up to five startups per category
- The startup receiving the highest number of confirmed public votes wins the People's Choice Award
- Judging panel: More than 20 startup founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders
- Finalists are evaluated on innovation, scalability, traction, impact, team strength, and short-term prospects
- Winners announced: 18 November 2026, during an invitation-only event in Cape Town, with a public livestream available
