The Global Innovation Challenge 2026 is an initiative designed to support and accelerate the work of young social entrepreneurs worldwide. The program targets founders aged 18 to 30 who are leading projects and startups that deliver a tangible social or environmental impact. It provides a platform for young leaders and innovators to gain funding, resources, and connections to scale their solutions for the world's most pressing issues.


Program Benefits and Opportunities

• Grant Funding Awards: Multiple awards of up to $15,000 USD are available for youth-led projects and startups that are already operational.
• Founder Support: Participants receive free support to build a strong application, including learning resources and access to a global community of young social leaders from the moment of registration.
• Opportunities Gateway: Progression through the challenge unlocks incremental access to further opportunities, such as paid work, fellowships, networking events, and learning experiences.

Eligibility Criteria

• Youth-Led: Founders leading the startup or project must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of submission and hold clear decision-making authority.
• Impact-Focused: The initiative must address a clearly defined social or environmental issue and be able to demonstrate measurable social outputs and impact.
• SDG Alignment: All projects must contribute to at least one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Challenge Timeline for 2026

• From May 18th: Early registration opens, providing access to the launch event.
• June 1st: Submissions officially open.
• July: Submission period continues.
• August 31st: Submission deadline at 5pm UTC.
• September: Submission scoring begins.
• October: Submission scoring concludes, and the 2026 Finalist Founders are announced. Finalist pitch coaching begins.
• November: The finals and pitching rounds begin.
• December: Grant award-winning founders are announced.

Registration for the 2026 challenge is now open. Early registration provides access to a live launch event where prospective applicants can learn best practices from previous grant award winners to optimize their chances of success.
