SMART Call 10 – 2026 is inviting Project Outlines for international research and development projects in advanced manufacturing. The call supports industry-driven, market-oriented projects that bring together organisations from different participating countries to develop innovative products, processes, services and manufacturing technologies with commercial potential.

Eligibility for funding varies by country and type of organisation. Some organisations may participate only as consortium partners, subcontractors or self-funded participants under their national rules.
A project consortium must include at least two independent industrial companies from two different participating countries. Projects must have a civil purpose, demonstrate technical innovation and strong market potential, and ensure that no single participant or country accounts for 66% or more of the total project budget.

Funding availability, eligible applicant types, funding rates and national application procedures differ by country. Applicants should contact their relevant national funding body before submitting a project.
Funding Details by Country
• Czech Republic: Grants of up to 12,000,000 Czech korunas are available. Projects may last for a maximum of 36 months, and the consortium must include at least one company.
• France: Bpifrance provides loans of up to €3 million per project for eligible startups and SMEs. Funding may cover up to 80% of eligible costs for startups and up to 60% for SMEs.
• Hungary: Grants ranging from 20 million to 70 million Hungarian forints are available. Funding rates depend on the applicant type and whether the activities involve research or experimental development.
• Latvia: Grants of up to €100,000 per participant per year are available. Funding may cover up to 80% of eligible costs for small companies, 75% for medium-sized companies, 65% for large companies and 100% for eligible research organisations or universities.
• Lithuania: Grants of up to €300,000 per project are available to eligible SMEs, research organisations and universities. Lithuanian participation must include at least one SME and one university or research institution.
• Poland: Grants of up to 1 million Polish zloty are available for a single applicant, or up to 2 million Polish zloty for a domestic consortium.
• South Africa: Grants of up to €300,000 per project are available. Projects must be led by an SME, and universities or research institutions must participate in partnership with an SME.
• South Korea: Grants of up to 500 million South Korean won per project per year are available for a maximum of three years, providing total funding of up to 1.5 billion South Korean won.
• Spain: Eligible companies may access loan and grant support through applicable national funding lines. Conditions depend on the funding instrument, company size, location, eligible costs and project duration.
• Sweden: Grants of up to 15 million Swedish krona per project are available. Projects must include at least one SME, and participating companies must account for at least 60% of the consortium’s total work effort.
These figures represent maximum funding levels. The final funding amount and percentage depend on national eligibility rules, applicant type, eligible project costs and assessments by the relevant national funding body.

The initial Project Outline should provide a concise description of the project concept, objectives and proposed consortium. Applicants invited to the next stage must then submit a Full Project Proposal. Successful projects receive the SMART Label, while funding is awarded separately through the participating national or regional funding bodies.
