C-Lab Outside is Samsung Electronics’ external startup acceleration program. Launched in 2018, it builds on the experience and expertise of the internal C-Lab Inside initiative to support promising Korean startups. The program selects and nurtures companies that can create synergies with Samsung Electronics and generate social value, providing an environment designed to help founders focus on growth. Selected startups receive tailored support to accelerate product development and strengthen business operations.


9th Cohort Application Details

  • Application Period: 15 June to 26 June
  • Number of Companies: Up to 30 startups will be selected.
  • Focus Areas: AI, Digital Health, Content & Services, Robotics, Materials & Components, IoT, Mobility, and ESG.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be legally registered corporations in South Korea and have raised funding at Series B or earlier.
  • Recruitment Locations: Applications are accepted across four regions: Seoul, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Gwangju.

Selection Process

  • Step 1: Public announcement of the program.
  • Step 2: Application submission through the Samsung C-Lab website.
  • Step 3: Document screening.
  • Step 4: Interview screening.
  • Step 5: Final selection announcement in November.

Program Benefits and Support

  • Business Support Fund: Selected startups can receive up to KRW 100 million for product and service development, as well as operating costs. Samsung Electronics does not take equity in return.
  • Dedicated Office Space: Exclusive office space is provided for one year.
  • Customized Growth Support: Startups receive tailored growth programs based on their individual needs and business stage.
  • Business Collaboration: Opportunities to explore collaboration with Samsung Electronics, including business meetings and proof-of-concept support, are provided to identify potential synergies.
  • Exhibition Support: Outstanding startups may receive support to participate in major global technology exhibitions, including CES and VivaTech, and connect with international customers, investors, and partners.
  • Demo Day: Startups can present their achievements to investors and corporate stakeholders, creating opportunities for investment, partnerships, and business development.
  • Expert Consulting: Samsung employee experts and internal organizations provide guidance on technology, product development, organizational management, and marketing.
  • Intellectual Property: Selected startups may be eligible to receive free transfers or usage rights for Samsung Electronics patents.

C-Lab Outside is a comprehensive open-innovation program that helps startups validate, develop, and scale their technologies. Through non-dilutive funding, dedicated workspace, tailored growth support, expert mentoring, and collaboration opportunities with Samsung Electronics, the program equips promising Korean startups to strengthen their capabilities and expand into larger markets.
