The competition forms part of the Pan-African Social Enterprise Summit 2026, which will take place on 19–20 November 2026 in Kampala, Uganda, bringing together social entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, development partners, corporates, and ecosystem stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

Application Criteria

Applicants should be prepared to clearly demonstrate:

• The social, economic, or environmental problem their enterprise is addressing.
• Their proposed solution and how it works.
• The individuals, communities, or markets benefiting from the solution.
• Their business model and pathway to financial sustainability.
• Evidence of traction, revenue readiness, impact, or market potential.
• The scalability and practicality of their solution.
• How additional funding, exposure, or partnerships could support further growth.

Strong applications should demonstrate a clear problem, a practical and scalable solution, a sustainable business model, and the potential to create meaningful social or environmental impact.

Prize Information

• Youth Category – Ages 22–35: Grand Prize of US$4,000 cash.
• Young Innovators Category – Ages 15–21: Grand Prize of US$2,000 cash.

The competition is designed to support promising African social enterprises and innovators while providing greater visibility, funding opportunities, mentorship, and connections within the social enterprise ecosystem.
