Google DeepMind has announced a three-month accelerator program for AI-focused startups, research teams, and non-profits based in the Asia Pacific region. The initiative is designed to support projects utilizing frontier AI solutions to address significant environmental challenges.


Program Focus

• Innovation Areas: The program supports projects in sectors such as nature protection, climate action, sustainable agriculture, forest protection, and energy.
• Technology Integration: A particular emphasis is placed on projects that can integrate Google AI technologies and demonstrate real-world traction.

Eligibility Criteria

• Organization Type: Open to startups, research teams, and non-profit organizations.
• Location: Applicants must be headquartered in the Asia Pacific region.
• Product Stage: A functional prototype or minimum viable product is required.
• Technical Requirements: Applicants must have a technical roadmap centered on AI, a clear plan for integrating Google AI models (e.g., Gemini, Gemma, AlphaEarth, Forestry, or Perch), and robust in-house technical expertise in AI and machine learning.
• Leadership Participation: At least two or three key leaders, such as founders, CxOs, or primary technical decision-makers, are required to actively participate.

Program Benefits

• Equity-Free Support: The accelerator provides support to 10–15 selected organizations without taking equity.
• Technical Resources: Participants gain access to the Google AI stack.
• Training and Mentorship: The program includes tailored technical and business training, along with one-on-one mentorship from Google and industry experts.
• Credits and Resources: Participants may receive Google product credits and cloud resources, subject to an eligibility review.

Program Structure

• Initial Bootcamp: The program commences with a week-long in-person bootcamp.
• Virtual Support: This is followed by three months of virtual support.
• Demo Day: The accelerator culminates in an in-person Demo Day, where participants present their solutions to a network of mentors, investors, partners, and Google teams.
