The 2027 edition of Entrepreneurs for Resilience (E4R) celebrates its 10th anniversary by focusing on scaling access to affordable, quality primary healthcare for underserved populations in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Recognizing that essential care often remains inaccessible due to cost, distance, or limited service availability, the program is seeking innovative social enterprises. The initiative specifically targets ventures that utilize brick-and-click healthcare models, which combine physical and digital solutions to deliver quality care closer to the communities that need it most.
Program Partnerships
• The Swiss Re Foundation is partnering with the Digital Connected Care Coalition, which includes AXA EssentiALL and Sanofi’s Global Health Unit’s Impact Fund, as well as the Philips Foundation.
Funding Opportunities
• Pilot Funding: Up to USD 45,000 will be provided to the 6–8 shortlisted social enterprises during the due diligence phase to test initiatives aimed at increasing impact or validating new approaches.
• Finalist Funding: A total of up to USD 1 million in blended funding, combining conditional and unconditional financing, will be shared among the selected finalists over a two-year implementation period.
• Additional Funding: Participants gain access to further funding opportunities through programme partners and the broader impact investment ecosystem.
Technical Assistance
• For Shortlisted Enterprises: Participants receive 3 days of tailored technical assistance in impact measurement and management during the due diligence phase to strengthen their impact capabilities. The due diligence process also generates practical recommendations and materials for organizational strengthening.
• For Finalists: The 3–4 finalists receive up to 20 days of tailored technical assistance over two years. This covers advanced impact measurement and management, financial management and fundraising, scaling, last-mile marketing and sales, and gender inclusion.
• Corporate Expertise: Access to corporate expertise is provided by Swiss Re employees and programme partners.
Networks and Exposure
• People’s Choice Award: A public online vote determines the winner, providing the social enterprise with an additional opportunity to support its growth and impact.
• Increased Visibility: Participants gain enhanced visibility across the healthcare, philanthropy, and impact investing sectors.
• Peer Network: Access is granted to a network of like-minded healthcare social enterprises for exchanging knowledge and best practices.
• Strategic Connections: The program offers opportunities to connect with investors, corporate experts, and strategic partners.
• Global Gathering: Finalists will participate in the Entrepreneurs for Resilience gathering, tentatively planned for early November 2027 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Selected entrepreneurs will receive a comprehensive support package including funding, tailored advisory services, access to corporate expertise and networks, and peer-to-peer learning. This combination of resources is designed to strengthen their business and impact models, expand their reach, and ultimately enable more people to access the essential healthcare they need.
